Is it just going to be for riding on streets and sidewalks, or do you have several acres of property to maintain? Do you need it to move heavy tools, gas cans, over anything other than flat, tended terraine?
We have hills and over a hundred acres and find that our refurbished bottom of the line cart is sufficient for moving us and our stuff up and down hills a half a mile or so, so that we don't have to take any of the internal combustion engine powered cars or trucks out ...just to check on things or move a downed tree.

Mine has the lift and clearance on it, plus i put LED lights on it just to be obnoxious.
And i also have a radio and speakers on mine, again, to be that guy.

This is a prime example of why Americans are overweight.
No able bodied man should need a golf cart to get around his neighborhood....

I don't get it. Why spend thousands on a golf cart to drive around the neighborhood?
Just walk. Ride a bike. Drive your car.
Man to each his own but what a waste.

We did side mirrors, rear flip seat, extended roof, Adjustable side view mirror, arm rests for rear with cup holders, tinted windshield, custom wheels, no lift though. Front and rear led lights as well. We are happy with it. I’ll probably add a turn signal kit, horn, and battery meter.

Bought one and put a Tesla Model 3 motor on it. It’ll do 0-60 in 1.5 seconds but only runs for 5 min on a full charge. Might need to upgrade my Duracell battery.

Mine cost me $4. Neighbor gave it to me that he didn't need or use. Batteries were bad, but they were not. One of the battery cables was bad, which cost me $4 for a pack of replacement ends. Tried to give it back, he wouldn't take it.
I use mine to get around on about 75ac, sun down rides down the road drinking and visiting friends. Live on a dead end street.

Paid to much for the aftermarket dash and radio. Rewired the whole front electrical with a 15 pin Molex for easy removal of the dash if needed. But with adding the buck converter For 12v I was able to add usb charging plugs To charge cell phones, and a three way switch and diodes to have parking lights and headlights instead of just headlights all the time. Works out great for trick or treat.
Added the receiver hitch to the back seat. Worthless for anything but moving the utility trailer empty after unloading the cart when we unhook it from the RV. Comes in really handy for those non pull through sites.

Got kids? If not, planning on them? You’ll want the back seat.
We bought a used one. Got new batteries and tires. We also did the rear view mirror, and we put on seat belts. Definitely recommend those for kids, because the back is really easy to fall off of. Our rear seats flip down so we can carry ice chests or whatever too.
We did not go for the radio/sound system. We just bring a Bluetooth speaker in there and play music from our phones when we want it.

I’d recommend a basket on front similar to this Very handy
Ours is always full and if you‘re driving around or going to the neighbors it’s great to put food, ice chest, towels, etc. It was recommended to me over anything else and I would say it’s easily the best add on.
Just to clarify, I’m not sure if that’s the exact one I have but similar. If you are getting a cart from a shop, they’ll have something similar in stock.
And some damn rear view mirrors

Yea it’s pretty insane. I’m guessing he paid at least 5 figures for it

6k, goes 21 mph. Raised a bit with nice wheels and a back bench seat.

I would guess it’s just another “toy” or status symbol. We have lots of people in our area with them. I don’t think it’s to avoid walking or exercise. Heavy majority of the time it’s got young kids so I would guess they are going to friends houses they would normally drive over to but can zip around in the cart.
I have plenty other things I would rather spent 3k+ on but they look convenient for quick errands.
