Lots of "we did it, Sacramento. Just us. Sacramento."

Basically they went through his garbage I guess, so they must have had some good evidence to get them to that point.
That's what I'm wondering. They are giving the DNA a lot of the credit, but I'm curious as to what led them to even have him under surveillance and to capture his DNA.

What I read is that they never got married.
ETA: but they were engaged.

I read that he didn't fight the charge, presumably to keep them from looking deeper into his background.
Interviews with neighbors paint him as relatively friendly, although he could be heard at times talking loudly to himself and cursing. That was another part of the GSK Killer's MO.

No word on whether he is Mr. Cruel or not.
I need to know what led them to him so that they could go through his garbage and get DNA. Seems so random.

At some point he popped up on somebody's radar. They interviewed him last year and it didn't go well, leading them to put him high on the suspect list. Presumably they've been watching him ever since.

I've followed this on Reddit for at least 5 years. I am beyond floored they caught the guy.
Damn.
Damn.

Doesn't gathering the evidence that way mean that they didn't have a warrant for it? Basically, anyone can go grab your discarded trash and test it for DNA because the discarded trash is no longer regarded as "yours". I may be wrong, but I think that is right.

That is correct. No warrant needed for garbage on the curb.

I hadn't heard this. shite, I'm curious what even led them to that point.

So, I guess it could have been just a hunch, and a bunch of circumstantial evidence. I hope there's more to it than that, though.

just speculating but wondering if they matched his DNA to the crimes in Australia and were able to go back and look into people who filed paperwork for passports during that time and were able to zero in on him

Sometimes I hear shite too, but I've never heard exactly what a "baby back bitch" is.

that's hard to believe. Why didn't they get a sample of his DNA at that time?
