There goes any credibility you have for recommendations for seafood, Mardi Gras, and saints fans.

I mean mobile Mardi Gras isn’t New Orleans but you posted some shitty fricking examples lol. Again I agree it ain’t New Orleans but it’s still a damn good time. I’ll be drinking cold beers this weekend at the boom boom.
Also the seafood in New Orleans is good at a handful of places. It’s over rated as frick at most. Like the seafood at the beach.....they have a captive audience so they don’t try that fricking hard.

Real story
I once dated a girl that talked me into transferring to USA in mobile. We rented a place downtown on Government street. She assured me Mardi Gras was great.
Well the Saturday before Mardi gras after the parades rolled, the bars were completely dead before sundown. It was the lamest shite I've ever experienced.
I'm not lying when I say we broke up do to me missing my first Mardi gras ever.

I knew this was going to be about Mobile and I knew people would be pissed off.
Of course this thread reappears every year so calling it isn't exactly prescient.

Friends,
Mobile is Hell on Earth. I have two stories to tell for a future time about that pit of filth with its husband bulge of a fake highrise.
While I know this is a troll and know I am falling for it, I cannot help it. Mobile automatically sets me off. It is the worst place in the world. Its food would make Alexandria appear like Paris. Its Mardi Gras, joke as it is with its Elks truck parade quality and terrible marching bands, was not the first celebrated in America. That a tunnel is required to get through it reminds us that Cerberus should guard it. But it’s missing, likely having killed itself forced to a non life in Mobile.
Sincerely,
TulaneLSU

Ecb,
Are you by chance connected with Vandebilt in Houma? Meant to ask you this for years.

Someone told me the mayor of chocolate city has to write a letter to Mobile every year asking permission to hold Mardi gras because Mobile was first. Is this true?

The NOLA area celebrated our first Mardi Gras at Point du Mardi Gras over a century before Mobile. Mobile is pathetic beyond imagination so they’ve invented their own false history.

When I'm back in Gods Parish in the spring, me you and buttocksinclarse need to meet up for a cup of coffee at Pagoda's in the 7th ward. I can't wait for your release of that NYT best selling book of yours.

Friend,
It would be an honor. I’m more a rue de la course chatter. Something new would always be interesting. Buttocks has his copy already.

Any Mobile vets have some tips?

Staying home with a sick kid is probably just as much fun as Mardi Gras in mobile.
