I think most of that wait was the comm issues. That seems to have delayed everything.

The comm issue was 25 minutes and that was for shutdown/power down procedure of the capsule. It’s also sad we communicated with them from 260,000 miles but can’t communicate with them from 260 feet

Also two hours is the requirement they said to get the astronauts out. Thoughts on Why two hours? They didn’t specify.

Battery life and life support most likely.

Once it separates from the European service module it has finite power reserves.

Take a picture of your mom? 4 people just flew around the moon and could barely get a shot of her big arse.

Elon would have a moving floating inflatable and then land them on it.

Notes taken for Artemis 3:

1. Working toilets
2. Find alternative to Navy trying to construct a front porch.

I believe that is the requirement for the astronauts to be able to get back to the boat for observation and such from deep space flight. Their gear can last 6 days without oxygen

Best part is them airing a pre recorded demonstration of them claiming they can get it done in 10 minutes.

That's what happens when you deport all the Mexicans.

2026: 40+ Navy divers and 6 boats took almost 2 hrs

1969: 4 dudes in a pool party float raft for 15 mins

Their gear can last 6 days if the craft can supply power and oxygen. The duration without that umbilical is significantly less.

It’s only meant as an emergency provision if the cabin was looking at depressurization going to or from the moon.

3. Better video cameras all around from ascent to landing. It’s disgraceful how poor in quality the footage is, and also in what views there are. SpaceX is far superior here. This is important for public engagement.

I highly doubt the scheduled 9:30 PC is going to be on time.

Those astronauts should have been out of that capsule an hour ago. They could have just as easily got out on a boat instead of that ridiculous porch. NASA just can't help itself making things more complicated than it needs to be. That fricking porch probably cost tax payers $20m or more.

There are improvements to be made, but you won’t see as much improvement as you’d like. It’s a question of bandwidth.

SpaceX gets to cheat because they can use Starlink, which is of limited value on these missions.
