That's 411 miles per minute (roughly Baton Rouge to Dallas in a minute).

Kind of interesting how the video has gotten worse the closer they've gotten to Earth. Is this a case of losing their laser internet downlink?

I would think video transmission bitrate is low on their priority list right now.

Less than 30 minutes to start of reentry... 40 minutes from splashdown

It doesn't burn up in Earth's atmosphere?

It gets put into a return to Earth orbit and gravity pulls it in until it burns in the atmosphere.

I liked them showing the ESA guys drinking beer in the control room a few minutes ago. Their job is done. Good work, guys.

Ok - I wasn’t sure if it was close enough to feel Esrth’s gravity.

On NSF earlier they were talking about all the various stuff in space that has to be tracked and accounted for, from satellites to space junk. They say it is millions of known objects. That got me to thinking, will we one day have the space version of Sanford and Son just cruising around the cosmos picking up loads of space junk?

They're talking like this. I'd be shitting my pants
