So you're glossing over your lie that I said Isaacman was solely responsible
I never said you said that, speaking of lies. But to come in with 4 months left, in the 2nd artemis mission, and seek any glory is laughable. This shite has been in the works since W 86ed the shuttle program.

Sounds like Isaacman coming in and laying down the law pissed them off. Expected when someone from outside comes in and makes big program changes.
You're not very encumbered by facts, are you?

Going back to the Press Conference when they were talking about ejecting cubes. I believe I read elsewhere that they are satellite cubes. What's the story? Are they creating a sat relay on the way there? Or am I completely wrong?
These four drew the short straw. They're all crammed in there for 10 days without some time at the moon as a reward for those going down and decompression time for those staying in orbit.

Kinda funny to see them taking pics with an iphone and floating it back and forth...

You don’t need a sat relay to the moon. At most something to give you coverage on far side.
The satellites you are talking about are all scientific data collection sats placed in high earth orbit in the next 12 hours.

They're passing around one of the astronauts' personal cell phones taking pictures of the crew and capsule right now
Kinda crazy that they can just put their phones on board and bring them along. Technically they have service to make calls and texts for a short time while orbiting over the US, and GPS on any maps app would be more accurate than on earth. If they have Starlink internet access they could also be scrolling X or TD right now

Absolute waste of money. Defund NASA.

In that video about cheering them on from the National Mall, isn't that footage of a Saturn V being projected on the Washington Monument?

Have they past the Van Nyes belts debunking 90% of all those retards impossible hurdles and proving them wrong?

They'll be all the way through the belts a few minutes into the TLI burn which happens tomorrow around 5:30 pm central. But like others have said, they've been in and out of them today. Couple of little radiation induced glitches that fault management software handles and resets.

Guarantee the quality of American life would go up if you put the billions wasted on NASA into say building more gasoline refineries
$4.00 gas is a bigger issue than sending anyone to the moon.

quote:Thank you. They've already said they'll have the existing comms loss. I had heard two different things about the cubes. I wasn't sure if I heard correctly when the female at the PC said the release would happen when they shed another stage before TLI. I used to follow NASA a lot (lived in Orlando/ saw Columbia launch but didn't hear the twin booms on return/watched the RTS from Cocoa) but SpaceX's webcasts allowed me to get a bit lazy. I wonder how long after TLI the video feed will be changed to visualizations or very low resolution. I remember the Voyager feeds from Saturn and the live feed of Hubble repairs so I know it's possible but there's much more important things for that bandwidth use than internet streams.

I would hope that perhaps they use it to send those shots up (down?) to the cloud.

They’re.. 24,000 miles from the nearest cell tower? Even at perigee they’ll be 1,500 miles above the surface.
Hopefully the capsule has wifi.

A shortage of refining capacity isn’t the cause of the high gas prices you dumb frick. In fact, the industry struggled a few years ago because of a misalignment with demand and refineries only being profitable at a high utilization.
Call some friends over, open some natty lights, and bitch about things you don’t understand with them rather than bothering us with your ignorant bullshite.

Very entertaining currently hearing them troubleshoot how to fix the damn toilet. Go to space and still have plumbing issues.
Posted on 4/1/26 at 10:48 pm to LSUbacchus
Well would you want to have to reach around and pinch off a turd manually?
I’m actually kinda surprised it wasn’t worth it in the weight budget for an untested new model toilet to have more robust replacements if needed.
