Real question for anyone...

What's the difference between sending the butt plug up as opposed to a shuttle?

Is this thing like a shuttle and they just fly it back, or is it just on a trajectory the entire time and falls back to Earth?

I apologize for not knowing.

Did the camera black out at liftoff for every broadcast. Didn’t even see it lift off.

I couldn't imagine strapping myself on that thing and being blasted into the space.

It's gotta be a hell of a ride to feel that amount of force and then a few seconds later you're in zero gravity

Stat - this sucker gonna produce 8.8m lbs of thrust, about 15% more than the Saturn V, yet almost half as much thrust as SpaceX Starship, which produces 16M!

Yes.

But it doesn’t have twice the payload capacity.

The extra thrust is to carry enough extra fuel is to have the ability to fly BACK. I’m still floored they can do that.

Shuttle has flight control surfaces for atmospheric control

The butt plug... is just a butt plug when it returns

I apologize for not knowing.

The speed needed to return from deep space would cause way more friction/heat than what Shuttle could handle once it gets back to the Earth's atmosphere & starts reentry

You seem to be under the impression that the shape of a space craft impacts how it flies through space.
