Do not be so hasty. The WaPo is running scared. They ran a front page story last week basically admitting that they ran the story before having all the facts, and other such nonsense. That was BEFORE they were served with the suit. Secondly, the attorney, L. Lin Wood has done this before and won libel/defamation suits for big money.
It is being tried in Covington, Kentucky, not a liberal stronghold like D.C. or New York, or somewhere else. Interesting that he took the WaPo first, but then, they have always styled themselves as the Capital's New York Times, the catalyst for all other news.

Quite a few "blue-checks" have received letters from McMurtry and L.Lin Wood asking(?) them to preserve all documentation related to the incident. This is often sort of a move that indicates that a suit might be forthcoming. Kathy Griffin, Alyssa Milano and a few others have received letters of preservation.
