Hard to argue with 1,000,000 miles.
Would not be a good truck for you.... seats are not flame-retardant enough...

Oh I'm just arguing to argue. I know that whole deal sucked. I think they still owe like 11 billion of the 50 they took and the Feds just sold it off.

I'm rocking mine. Mileage is a drawback but Toyota has a bulletproof drivetrain and they know it. They could probably use higher gears and get better mileage, but that thing is a frickin pulling beast

Is this where I post the numbers showing Tundras have no measurable advantage in acceleration to the GM or Ford V8s, from a stop all the way through the 1/4 mile, and the Ecoboost waxes it?
But that seat of the pants though.

I am old school. Ford bet every asset they had, including the blue oval. They mortgaged it all and they won.
That took nuts, nuts that GM straight-up lacked.

TBH, they re excellent.
I wish Toyota would step up their game a bit more on the UI portion and overall electronics and make their power a bit lower in the torque band. Also they need a 3/4 ton.

I'll never buy a new GM product off principle alone. I'm stubborn and principled to a fault at times, sure, but I won't feel as dirty not directly giving them money. If I like a product they offer, I'll buy it used from a non-GM dealership/private seller.

They're trucks are made in Mexico, that's why they have such huge margins.
Most people that own them have no idea that their made in Mexico and thing they're buying an American made vehicle.

I go to dealer auctions pretty regularly and see alot of used trucks and SUV's. Either GM owners are harder on their vehicles or Ford just makes better vehicles.
I'm talking about interior parts, switches, door handles, power mirrors, A/C's, ect.
I was a GM man before I owned a used car lot.

It should also be where you mention that it is a heavier, higher riding truck as well.

I read years ago that Ford and GM netted like $10K on most pickups and all pickup-based SUVs.
Yep. It goes back to what I have said in other threads, MSRP is a fake number, and most trucks are upward of $20K profit based upon the MSRP price people see and use in negotiations, and whatever they come off of MSRP is still lots of profit.

This is exactly my assessment, especially from 2007-2013.
Very solid drivetrains, except for front hubs, but really crappy switchgear.

Ford since birth, will never own an Obama vehicle.

According to the specs, F150s are taller. And I'm not sure why the Tundra should be rewarded for being a cow. Regardless, it still doesn't change the fact that the Tundra isn't faster than other trucks, even though that seems to be the company line of owners. I guess it's whatever you have to tell yourself to justify the terrible fuel economy.

quote:Yeah, can't really complain about the engines and transmissions. They just use such shitty materials and parts designs on so many other things. Repairs on older GM's will nickel and dime you to death.

The sticker for my truck said plain as day that it was 51% sourced and built in Mexico.

I average 16 mpg mixed.
And to your original reply, I never said anything about being fast. I said it pulls
ETA: but whatever it takes to justify your know-it-all attitude

GMC Envoy XUV
This is the piece of shite that allmost killed me and my pregnant ex-wife. That thing is so top heavy it shiuld be outlawed. It's very easy to roll over and handles like it's a fullsize suv body on a compact frame.
