Loved this dog - 11 mo pup - Red Lab - Shortly after I picked up back in February I had an accident and tore my left knee up. Still arguing with doc and insurance about repair. Meanwhile, I haven't been able to take care of Maggie as I need to. Finally found a good home for her, and they will be getting her later this evening. It hurts like hell. She will be in a better place. At least I know she will be loved, but damn it hurts.

Will plan to adopt at a later time after health is better.

Thank you for not posting her to Craigslist as "free to a good home". You saved her from becoming a bait dog.

Hate it for you, but good for you. You are doing the right thing by the dog.

I've never see a red lab. Just googled. They are pretty dogs.

Good for you and her.

Dogs are the best. Help another one once you're on the mend.

If a poster named Festus shows up, DO NOT LET HER GO.

There are two things you can't mention on the OT without posting a pic: women and dogs. Get to it.

What is OP gaining by posting this? it sounds like his excuse is a load of shite. "i had a knee surgery 9 months ago and arguing about insurance?"... all labs want to do is retrieve a ball for you.

Idiot. He feels like he can't properly take care of the dog. So he's doing the right thing. Better that than to keep it chained to a tree with a dirty water bowl and rarely fed. Quite frankly, I fail to see the problem.

I had to give up a pup once because of a new job that would take me on road alot. So hard to find a good home for em. People that couldnt take care of themselves show up if your broadcast in the wrong places

he's acting all noble saying how he'll adopt another one later and stuff like he's doing the doggy world a service for his action. Why announce this 3 hours before giving it up?

Maybe because he feels bad and wants some positive encouragement?
