Have not looked through the thread but regardless of your public speaking skills, the good news is it’s friday and no one will give a shite. Most will be figuring out afternoon or escape plans.

You're gonna bomb up there and everyone's gonna laugh at you. Good luck though.

If you not nervous you lying. Even the most experienced still get there. Just get past the first 30 seconds and you’ll be fine.

You need to rehearse your speech in front of the mirror to yourself. Get your delivery and timing down and get comfortable with the message. It's not too late to do it tonight. It only takes a couple of times. It will make a huge difference.

or you could just wing it. It's just your career.

Something I would do to help w/ nerves is stand at the spot from where you will speak prior to the presentation - before the meeting starts or during a break - to get a feel for the situation; just people are not in their seats looking at you.
For some reason I would be less nervous when the room is full and there are 50 faces looking back at me.

Humans evolved to be afraid of public speaking. Being up there in front of those people, you're vulnerable. They could gang up and kill you. They probably won't, but they could.

Never thought it of that way and it makes sense. No wonder why they say to picture the crowd as being naked, since they are about to turn on you and mob kill you.

Let’s see
- attention of 50 people
- is there free food and drinks
- any hot chicks
If so I’ll do it for you!

Take half of a beta blocker and make sure your heart rate is not to low like lower than 60. Feel for your radial pulse and count it for 30 seconds and then multiply by 2. If above 60 take half of the beta blocker.

You will thank me later. You can be nervous as can be but your voice will sound perfectly normal and you will look very calm.

I'm that way. If you have an opportunity say something on the walk to the front of the room, it breaks up the moment you first have to speak.

It's all about your mindset. You choose to let it be stressful or to let it be something to have fun with. Focus on a chair in the middle or behind the group where no one is sitting then act as if you're just speaking to that empty chair.

Also, the old trick of prepping yourself by imaginging that everyone in the audience is naked works (I usually modify it with "look at those dumbasses, they forgot to wear clothes LOL!").

No. Just you.

And if you hate it, more likely you’re going to suck at it and it’s gonna be boring AF for all 50 people.

Slow. The. frick. Down.

Biggest mistake is talking to fast because you are nervous.

Two biggest mistakes:

1) Rushing through presentation - slow it down
2) Going off script - stick with the message...when you feel an urge to ad-lib...don't

I think this is the best piece of advice. If you've practiced your material and know it well, sticking with what you know is key to not botching it.
