“Our intent was to not run anything up, and we took steps to not disrespect our opponent,” Gilmour coach Bob Beutel told Cleveland.com. “They went 0-for-28 from the field and 1-for-4 from the free-throw line. We let them shoot.”

Beutel said he started putting junior-varsity players into the game in the first quarter.

I hate how this is so frowned upon. Children these days need a good reminder that it fricking sucks to lose and get embarrassed.

The team had a record of 1-14. Who the hell has a 15 game basketball season?

That gym looked pretty bad arse.

I cant imagine this being even remotely fun. Wish the article stated in what minute of what quarter they made the ONE free throw

I mean what is the other team supposed to do? Just stand around on the court doing nothing? Sounds like they didn't run it up on purpose, but the players can't just stand there with their fingers up their arse .

No surprise.

I knew of plenty of Junior High girls' basketball scores of 60-2, etc.

Watch prep girls' soccer, if you dare. A large percentage of girls have a hard time estimating where ball in the air is going to be in order to effect a header. Boys are much better at this. Is it reps? Possibly to some degree but I'm guessing males inherently can better estimate objects flight paths.

This extends to the shooting of a basketball as well.

Bad high school girls' basketball is excruciatingly abysmal to watch.

As a high school basketball official, ALL girls basketball is excruciatingly abysmal to watch.

I'll bet that gym erupted when they made that free throw.

More importantly, who was the team that got beat by a team that had a 108-1 loss?

I don't know if you've heard but girls are just as good as boys at everything. Your statement is false.

Probably can be attributed to evolutionary adjustments for chucking a spear at a target, etc.

Well if you'd start blowing the whistle when my daughter gets fouled it'd help.

Just kidding. I'm decompressing after an emotional season.
