Girlfriend's mom's dog destroyed by pitbull

My girlfriend's (no pics, you wouldn't to see them anyway) step dad got drunk and left the front door open, and her mom's chihuahua got out. At about the same time the neighbors let their pitbull out to go pee.
Chihuahua goes in neighbors yard, and the pitbull quits pissing and sees lunch. A very brief dogfight follows, and after a few seconds the pit bull emerges victorious, and the girlfriend's mom's ankle biter is dead.
So my question is, who is more trashy?
My girlfriend's family because her drunk arse stepdad left the door open for the chihuahua to get out.
The neighbors for having a pitbull.
Bonus question:
If my girlfriend's family is trashy, does the make me trashy for dating white trash?

My neighbor has 2 chihuahua's that go nuts barking and growling at my dog (1/2 lab 1/2 weinereiner) when we walk by and they're out.
My dog and I both dream of the day my hand "slips" holding the leash and he gets to frick those things up
