what a completely idiotic thing to say. You're words are no different than her words.

Damn those messages are chilling.

She should be institutionalized at the very least.

She wanted to be popular, have friends and have their sympathy cuz her "boyfriend" committed suicide. They were both mental.

Pretty sick. Social media is destroying people’s morals and conviction. This bitch urged this dude to kill himself so she could, among other things, get attention on social media....... let that sink in for a second

Don’t see how a first amendment argument would hold up. This is akin to yelling fire in a theatre.

So why was she charged and found guilty of involuntary manslaughter?

I don't understand how you keep saying it's not a crime but the thread is literally about the girl being released early after being charged for said crime.

And I believe her conviction was upheld by the Massachusetts Supreme Court. So yes, it was indeed a crime.

I’m sorry but this is not a crime regardless of what you think of her.

It's absolutely a crime of involuntary or negligent manslaughter, don't you think?

quote:

Involuntary Manslaughter is defined as: 1) An unlawful killing that was unintentionally caused as the result of wanton or reckless conduct that a defendant engaged in; or 2) An unlawful killing that resulted during the commission of a dangerous battery by a defendant.

I saw it mentioned earlier in the thread, but if anybody hasn't watched the HBO doc on this (I Love You, Now Die) is missing out. It is great.

I am torn on her. I do think she is liable to some degree, but I also think personal responsibility has to come into play on the part of the kid that killed himself. I even may have looked differently at it if she had been physically there with him and pushing him back into the truck.

Is she an evil person? Yeah. Is she "responsible" for this kid's death? I'm not sure.

And again, that is just my personal feeling toward it. I realize she was convicted and it was upheld.

How can you possibly put these sentences in the same post back to back?
thank you

responsible in what sense? In the sense that she contributed to it? frick yeah, she did.
Responsible in the sense that she killed him? No one said that, as evidenced by the charge, which isn't murder. That's why she's only serving a year.
I mean frick, a year for what she did isn't that hard to understand. I don't get why people are struggling with that.

If he hadn't gotten out of the truck, and she hadn't texted him to get back in, she probably would have gotten away free and clear.

Telling him to go back into a known toxic environment sealed the deal for her.

agreed, after that point making the argument that he would still be alive is reasonable.
