A woman serving a 15-month sentence for her part in her boyfriend's death by suicide will leave jail weeks early even after her bid for parole was denied this week by Massachusetts officials, according to a sheriff's spokesman and a state record.
Michelle Carter has earned "good time" that will move up her release to March 13 from May 5, Bristol County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jonathan Darling told CNN Friday in a statement. Inmates can earn as many as 10 days monthly for working at the jail and attending educational and other programs, he said.

Carter was found guilty in 2017 of involuntary manslaughter in the death three years earlier of Roy, who was 18 when he killed himself in his car. After his death, investigators discovered Roy had texted Carter as he contemplated and attempted suicide, and that she'd encouraged him to do it when he had doubts.

Maybe someone will “encourage” her to kill herself. Bitch is crazy

I’m sorry but this is not a crime regardless of what you think of her.

Maybe someone will "encourage" her to commit suicide in the near future.

Yeah not a crime. Did she physically kill him? No? She didn’t murder or manslaughter him.

I agree that this punishment doesn’t seem justifiably severe enough to match the crime.
Having said that, this is far and away much less egregious of an injustice than what takes place in the judicial system all the time.
I’m not losing sleep over this. I won’t assume I know enough details to render an accurate judgement.

She will be torturing herself and anyone around her until she's gone. She's ill.

By law, it is undoubtedly a crime. If your argument is against the law itself, then I could maybe understand your position, however morally wrong it might be.

Courtroom contrite demeanor probably is a good acting job.
