The DA and the Judge had to act this way assuming they are both elected officials. Can you imagine the attack ads?
"Judge Smith released a child rapest back on to the streets. Will this rapest sexually assault your child next? Judge Miles would never do such a thing ... Vote for Judge Miles"
Politicians care only about one thing...getting re-elected .

There's a simple fix to this too, levels. Not that this kid should be on there at all, but the fact that a kid convicted of statutory rape is put on the same registry, in the same capacity, as a violent rapist is a joke.
ETA: Not even getting into the litany of ridiculous crimes that can land you on the registry.

This really pisses me off. Why does the guy get all this bull shite, but what happens to the girl? How does the person who lies and tricks someone into having sex with them, not get into trouble?
Also do all of these women teachers that get caught having sex with underage males, do they get harsh punishments like what he got? B/c honestly, teachers who have sex w/ their students who are underage, should be punished the worst. I mean these people are around children all the time and need to be weeded (
) out.

Which is why it's BS that judges have to run for election. I don't want someone thinking about a political ad when they are making a ruling.
