I want to buy a thank you gift for a married male friend. He’s helped me with some things lately and I think it would be nice to get him something. I’m also friends with his wife but closer to the husband.

I was thinking a bottle of the scotch he really likes but another friend pointed out that his wife may take it poorly. Should I get something for them as a couple? I don’t want to piss her off. Thoughts?

Some type of marital aid would fit your criteria.

You’re welcomed in advance.

I urge against a gift for a married man. Alcohol is never a classy gift. I suggest a beautiful Christmas ornament for their tree or perhaps a nice cheese platter. Books can always be a pleasant gift. I'm close to finishing TulaneLSU's Advent Pilgrimage: 24 Days of Devotion, Shopping, Stories, and Top 10 Lists. I will be giving them out at no charge through Chicken at the Playoffs.

I think the answer you are looking for is a threesome

If you have to ask, you know the answer.

But here’s your attention.

But would a guy really appreciate that? I want to give him something he really likes and will want.

ABSOLUTELY, especially if it's a Christopher Radko or Dona Gelsinger.

I can’t speak for them but it wouldn’t bother my wife if you bought me something.

I like wine

I actually didn’t think it would be an issue. If I was the wife I wouldn’t think anything about it. Someone else pointed out that it might be.

She’s not my type so that’s a no. We can move on to better suggestions.

HC, that's because this is all made up. It's spurious. She should have waited 45 minutes to get her attention fix by starting a lunch thread, instead of this foolishness.
