Got mine done in the hospital. One of them was laying sideways under another tooth and they had to chisel it out.

If they're out of the gums, then they're simple extractions. Had all 4 of mine done on a Friday afternoon and played golf on Sunday.

I just had the uppers done a month ago with local anesthesia only.
It's no big deal really. No pain or anything.
Took literally 2 minutes for each tooth.
They numb it, which works immediately and doesn't hurt. Then they start to pull the tooth. Doesn't hurt at all. You feel some pressure and hear some crunching, but it's no big deal. I've had braces so the sounds were somehow familiar.
They spray some water and he put in a stitch. And that was it.
Took 2 minutes total per tooth in my case.
Had to bite down on some gauze for a few hours afterwards and eat soft foods.

I just had one bottom out. Pain isn't that bad, but still hurts. Never had trouble sleeping.
But avoiding it and easing back into food took a couple weeks. That was the pain in the arse.
I wouldn't want to work the next day just because it is uncomfortable and prob still have some bleeding.

GO to a different dentist if he's telling you all you need is ibuprofen and it's not necessary for you to be put under
I had all four removed at once and had a rough go at it when I returned home afterwards. Lots of smoothies

I had the same thing done just a month ago with local anesthesia only. I only took one pain pill after and I'm not even sure I needed it.
There was almost no pain at all. The only pain there was was that if I opened my mouth too wide the first couple of days, my jaw/cheek area felt bruised because it was still swollen.
But there was no constant pain at all.
It was quick and it was easy.
The most annoying thing was having to eat liquid foods for the first day and soft foods only for the next several afterwards.
The bottom teeth are much more difficult to remove and that's where the real issues come from.

Depends on the root structure - most other teeth are pretty consistent in their root structure, but upper 3rd molars tend to vary. But they often have just a fused, single cone-shaped root and roll out. If they aren’t impacted and don’t have freaky roots, upper 3rd molars tend to be one of the easiest extractions. If they were bad, he’d likely have referred you to an oral surgeon.

Literally getting this done tomorrow under almost the exact same circumstances as you described.

I got all 4 out two weeks ago. Both uppers were impacted, but I had no pain from them at all after 2 days. The lower two on the other hand....still not healed fully.

Dentist says it’ll just be local anaesthesia and I can go back to work the next day.
You're double checking your dentist with the OT?

Just pulling them? If they’re not cutting them out you’ll be fine

I had mine pulled at 7:30 am and went straight to work right after. Just numbed me up. No pussy arse gas or anything. It actually only took about 3 minutes to have the tooth pulled. Some pussies take off several days. WTF

Pulled? You should be okay.
All 4 of mine were impacted (coming in 90 degrees from other erupted teeth). All 4 had to be cut out. Done under sedation....AND THAT's WHERE THE PROBLEMS STARTED...I had never been under any kind of sedation...turns out...I'm allergic to Versed. Mom is an RN...and in recovery she said she watched my heart rate and blood pressure drop into near crash levels....to quote her "I was about to jump in that chair and begin CPR twice". She said she's never seen anyone have to fight that hard to come out of anesthesia.
Then they gave me Percocet or Percodan for the pain...yeah right...all that does is make me feel drugged and still in pain. Finally talked him into the same stuff I had taken for migraines....Fiornal #3....that worked. Damn lockjaw hurt like a bitch...took me over a week before I could open my mouth fully without gross pain.
Truly a horror story...I learned for future surgeries!

Dry socket is scary to think about

Yeah, that's going to be a hard pass for me. You're not putting pulling my wisdom teeth without putting me under. Sorry, i don't roll like that.

How is it being put under? Feels strange being put to sleep like a dog. I’m Having it done tomorrow to remove all 4, they also are all exposed.

I had my two lowers pulled last November... it sucked, but I could have gone back to work the next day. I didn't because I wasn't sure how the full day would go and I was thinking I'd need to take the heavy pain meds, but it never hurt too bad. The main thing is to keep the area as clean as possible until it's all healed... which should be easier with uppers as opposed to lowers.
ETA: I was under full sedation at an oral surgeon, both were aimed at my back molars and needed to come out before they caused more problems.

I had my uppers done with local only. Its a very uncomfortable / strange feeling just because of all the pressure as they are wrenching them out. But no actual pain then, and no pain after. He gave me these pain pills and I never took them. He did say mine were shallow, which may have affected that.
