If we don't get back to normal before Black Friday, you can start hammering the nails in the coffins of millions of small businesses. This will push almost the entirety of the budget saving sales for the year to the big stores with an online presence. I'm afraid that all of the "protective" measures to keep us safe, thanks to our loving big government dictators is going to push us into Corporation-centric monopolies. More-so than it is now. This will put millions of Americans out of work leaving them unable to provide for themselves and their families.

Unfortunately, there will be no Christmas for a lot of people this year. Be there for family members and friends. Check on each other. Suicide rates are going to skyrocket.

Those need to go live a year in Bangladesh. They'd be a lot more content in this life afterwards if we are focusing on shite like black Fridays and worldy possessions.

Isn't black friday generally where stores start operating at a profit?

literally no one cares or is enforcing this though

You said mandate which I took as state mandate

Yes, they are enforcing, maybe not in retail but the state is going in restaurants & checking occupancy

I wouldn’t be surprised if they wrote violations Black Friday

oh yeah, restaurants and bars are absolutely being unfairly picked on in all of this

retail, which is what the OP is about, doesn't seem to be much of a concern anymore

Black Friday has only been going on for like a decade. Who gives a shite about this specifically?

My Black Friday shopping will be done on Craigslist. Soooooo many people are going to be selling off frivolous toys they bought while bored during lockdown. They need the extra cash for Christmas. I'm looking for a good mountain bike and a few particular tools.

If I was a small business, I would dump all of my advertising budget into instagram ads.

The occupancy limits are complete and total bullshite. Think about how big most retail stores are. Think about, in a perfect world, how many people can safely fit into a given store. That is the number that Fire Marshals post for the building's occupancy rate.

Prior to Covid, on any given day, the average store would get nowhere close to the posted occupancy rate. Hell, they likely rarely ever hit 50% capacity on the average day.

Now, Covid mandates state 50% capacity. That capacity percentage is based on the posted pre-Covid occupancy rate. Most stores never approached 50% occupancy prior to Covid. So, in reality, during Covid most stores have operated nearly the same as before, in regards to capacity. It is a sham that does nothing but make people feel better.

I haven't seen a "customer counter" at the front of a store in weeks and weeks. They realized what that limited occupancy rate really was and decided they had no need to keep that close of a count.
