I have real bikes as well. 3 of them that I ride outdoors as well.

Well that’s your opinion and doesn’t make it fact. I think it’s stupid to pay $$$ for a boat cause I hate fishing. I think it’s stupid to spend thousands on hunting gear cause I hate hunting. I think it’s stupid to spend thousands on golfing stuff cause I hate golf. But I bet anyone that does enjoy those things disagrees with me big time (as they should).

Meh, it’s a sport that actually pays dividends, as well as a way of life for some people, and it puts food on peoples table. Hunting and fishing are not just a hobby. It’s actually an occupation.

Well I can’t disagree with you on that.

Out of all my hobbies golf is last on my list.

You get my point though. People have other hobbies and interests that are expensive. These same guys complaining and saying how expensive and stupid Peloton is likely have some hobby or interest that they have spent $$$ on that someone on the outside that doesn’t share that interest would think it silly to spend that much on that.

And anyone serious about cycling or mountain biking has likely spent way more than the cost of a Peloton for just one of their bikes. (Ex: one of my husband’s mountain bikes cost him 5k....and it was a previous year’s model that was actually on sale).

The difference is that people spending $5k on a mountain bike are going to ride it.

Next time the wife is nice enough to prepare lunch and says something sweet like "here's lunch", just do what I do. Whisper under your breath "You got damned right, woman!" Just make sure she can't hear you. Maybe just think it.
