I'm paying about $7.25-$7.50 a gallon now, and we still manage not to be in the poor house.

It probably would be if the taxes weren’t so damn high

Meh.

$.38 per gallon is enough although our governor doesn’t agree

STFU PJ, you have no idea what you are talking about. The ideal price of gas is around $2.40-$2.50. That price is more of an indicator. The lower it is from that price the worse it is for the oil and gas industry and since living in a state the depends heavily on oil & gas, you don't want to see it too low.

The further you go up from that price range, it starts to have an impact on everyone's pocketbook. The more they have to spend on gas, the less that is spent on other things

I would have no problem with gas averaging around $2.50 all the time. I think that's a reasonable compromise. O&G baws get their F250's and the rest of us don't have to make necessary sacrifices just to get to work and back.

Hope you don't have to fly for work or live more than 20 miles out. It adds up over time.

When gas goes up the economy slows down. It's pretty much common knowledge at this point.

But hey frick everyone else as long as they get theirs right?!

And you wonder why we shite on operators and rednecks on this board.

Better save your six figures baw when that downturn happens again. I'll be there to scoop up your car and house on the cheap.

That downturn has already happened, what did you pick up and how much of a profit did you make?

Or frick the oilfield because you want something for nothing.

Sell your vehicle, get rid of your phone, and probably about 90 percent of everything else you own. Because I can promise you, it's all been impacted by the oil and gas industry at some point before it got to you.

You're welcome.

I don't think you meant to reply to me directly. I'm not in favor of high gas prices.

You post this constantly. Who is asking for something for nothing?

Well its something that goes up and down, accept it for what it is. Quit bitching to us that work in the industry. Just like people on here make the jokes about people not saving their offshore checks, you should do the same to be prepared for fluctuations in your daily costs. Same damn thing. I hope it goes to 4$

I may have said it twice. Quit being dramatic. Its tongue in cheek. You want the benefits it provides but dont want to pay what it costs.

Like Nado said, its something that fluctuates. Accept it as part of your life and quit bitching. We dont control the price at the pump. Its never going to change. We pay for gas too. We are just a little more appreciative of it because we know what it takes on a day-to-day basis to get it from out here to the pump.

the oil companies make enough as it is........ are there people out of work because we aren’t drilling in the gulf???? Yes.... but it’s a far lesser sacrafice than have all the everyday people having less money to spend on other things..... I think the CEO at Exxon make like $10 million a year.... that’s just stupid....
So you want government price controls on a commodity?

Certain people love to rag on us in the industry about not preparing for downturns. Which is true, a lot of people spending without caring and that is their own fault for not being prepared.

But the same holds true on the other side.....

If gas prices affect you THAT much
Then you should prepare for when prices climb. Instead of bitching to us Baws about something we have no control of, take some responsibility for yourselves.
