Well, this isn't true at all. Geez, $2.50 is getting up there, and there is plenty of profit to go around for all you baws to upgrade your F250.

Then why not pool your money with other like minded people and drill a few wells, you will make money and be able to sell your gas for whater price you so choose.

The truth is O&G profit margins are pretty slim when compaired to other industries, in all actuality McDonalds has a higher ROI.

So if we worked a 5/2, everyone would stop complaining? Is that it?

Not worried about the other 6 months we're away from our families are you? Of course not.

You just want something for nothing.

I dont even count my time away as a disadvantage. I chose the field and my position. I made the life choices that led to this. No way i can make what i do doing anything else. So i never pull that card. But its not my choice what the prices are so i dont really care what others spend on a gallon of gas. Its a commodity, if you need it maybe its time to consider that it will go up and down some.

Remember that when you’re in a hospital bed and you can’t get a Nurse to come help because they have 8 others patients that are in pain as well.

19% here but I took 15% negative during the downturn so..... yea you do the math. It’s not aligned with annual wage increases for all the people who like to bitch and cry about gas prices.

People never stop dying. It’s an unlimited commodity and they charge premium price.

Not true at all. A large percentage of the nursing workforce will be retiring in the next few years, which will make the nursing shortage even worse. To coincide with that...baby boomers are getting older now and will need even more care.

MD Anderson had no problem taking my oilfield cash when my brother was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma so please excuse me if I can enjoy a pay raise because they don’t offer discounts if my industry happens to be down.

ETA- You and your husband both drive Jeeps so you have no business complaining about gas prices when you are part of the reason gas prices are high.

That has nothing to do with it.... less gas prices means people have more money to spend on other things that help keep our economy strong..... the oil companies make enough as it is........ are there people out of work because we aren’t drilling in the gulf???? Yes.... but it’s a far lesser sacrafice than have all the everyday people having less money to spend on other things..... I think the CEO at Exxon make like $10 million a year.... that’s just stupid....

Do you honestly believe the CEO of an oil company is paid any more or less than someone in a comparable industry?

Where is the outrage over bottled water? They made and continue to make a fortune from people while their plastic bottles pollute entire oceans.

The hypocrisy over O&G really infuriates me. It’s not OK for people to work hard and make a good wage because blue collar people are looked down upon by the likes of scaffold workers and nurses. Does our industry have stupid people? Yes it does. O&G is no different than any other industry in that facet. People in general spend recklessly this is a genuine American right. When the price of commodities goes up and it affects how much Chianti a person can buy in a week it is all of a sudden is an issue.

Interesting... I wonder why the medical field doesnt lower their ridiculous costs?? It would put more money in the hands of the public that they could spend elsewhere.... Funny how it goes both ways?

What an interesting nugget about the nurse

Yea, you really dont have room to complain when you chose to drive one of the least fuel efficient cars on the road. If its an issue, trade it in since youre so appalled at the price of gas.

Full disclosure; I drive a lifted Unlimited Sahara and run 93 in it. I knew what I was getting into when I bought it. Sounds like you need to be more careful with your spending.
