Bernhard Graumann, 59, is also suspected of leaving a bomb outside an office in Enkendorf-Alsenborn. A 64-year old doctor was killed by that device on Friday — just hours after Graumann's body was located. Police believe Graumann died by suicide or from natural causes.
Two days later, a log that had been rigged with explosives detonated in a stove, injuring a 34-year old woman and her 4-year old daughter.

First serial killer to achieve that status entirely posthumously?

More bombs would have to go off I think.
The AP story was more descriptive. Areas of Germany are in a panic.

Strangely enough, I had a science teacher in high school who was old even back when I was in school. He had been a young soldier in WWII involved in the D-Day and the invasion of Germany. He used to tell very graphic stories of combat.
One that I still remember is him talking about a town they were fighting over during the Battle of the Bulge. He said they would take it and all warm up in the buildings then the Germans would take it and warm up in the buildings. So the American engineers hollowed out a bunch of firewood and put explosives in the logs and left them behind the next time they got pushed out of the city. He said they returned to rooms full of dead German soldiers because the big cast iron stoves acted as huge grenades.

Graumann was known to be involved in recreating antique firearms that use gunpowder.
In a search of Graumann's home, investigators found black powder and other items that were 'in violation of weapons and explosives law

I hope the doctor was the #1 target. I'd hate to think the guy didn't get who he really really wanted to get.
