No you declared no 14 yr old shall be given access to guns ever.

Answer it. Come out and say it.

You’re willfully ignoring the neglect that did occur in these circumstances where POLITICIANS have NOT been charged. This isn’t just some ILLIGEAL who happened to live in a home with guns that weren’t locked up.
Holy whataboutism, bud.

The ADULT next to me got up and there was a wet stain under him because he had pissed himself due to shooting an M-16.

no father has any business giving his child a fricking AR-15.

Good to know, but that's not what this is about.
It is about a father who knew his son had made threats to shoot up his school allowing that child unfettered access to guns. That is not what you just described.

Oh we are arguing the generalized statements of posters of what parents should never do with their own children.

No, that is what you are arguing.
I'm commenting on the actual kid/parent in question.

Yeah I'm ridiculously pro gun, but giving a kid that's previously made death threats an AR is insane.

People are arguing this discussion point.
You are pretending they are not.

I'm not pretending anything. I don't give a shite about that argument right now.
I do like watching your tailspins, though.

You can hunt at 6 too. What’s your point? You never answered my question either. Just trying to understand your logic.
If you can trust a kid to operate a firearm at 6 years old then you have arrived at a point where you place trust in society to have responsibilty in themselves. Yet things like this happen and people see AR-15 and school shooting and they lose sight of the big picture. They focus on the headline and lose sight of the overall picture. The US Gov. is fine with certain people killing people. Yet when these events happen that include a white kid with an AR style weapon shoots someone its time to rile up the base and get rid of this evil. The same pople do not seem to get as excited when its nonwhites committing the same crimes. If you truly cared about this issue you would be posting about how we need to lock up every politician that allowed illegal criminals in this country to be arrested or inner cities like Chicago and New Olreans killing people all the time with no national uprising. Many of whom were teenagers. No one is doing that but this dad did less and you are calling for his death/imprisonment. Commit to your own beliefs. Call for these polticians to be in jail or for these democratic mayors to be in jail. All you are doing is playing to the hand of people who want to see America fall. You are a pawn. Pull back and look at the big picture. People have killed each other since people were people. Thats nature. I ask you to look at how we approach this topic as a whole and if its applied in a fair fashion or in a fashion that drives a narrative. I think you know the answer.

You responded directly to a person who responded to another generalized comment. On top of me arguing with a woman w a smart phone who too also made very dangerous generalized comments about how to parent 14 year olds and the appropriateness of learning not to shoot people.

Them 3 letter agencies can't climb a slightly slanted roof, how are they supposed to figure out he might go thru with his threats from the past??????

Fine Chad, forgive me for trying to stay on topic. Carry on with your tailspin. Take Atticus with you.

I know this is going to sound crazy but posting your opinion in this thread about the kid in the OP doesn’t mean people don’t feel the law should be applied evenly to others in other situations.
It’s all about meeting the legal threshold of negligence to warrant the charge. If you’re talking about an inner city kid whose parents are incarcerated, it’s tough to meet the legal threshold that they handed the kid a gun used in a drive by if they had been sitting in jail for part of the kid’s life.

If the dad just bought a gun for his son and kept it safe and somehow the kid got it them it would be tough deal to put dad in jail.
The big point yall keep forgetting is they were already interviewed by the fricking fbi about shutting up a school. That's the reason dad goes to jail.

Most likely in his backpack. From the picture/video where you see it on the ground it looks like it may have had a folding or collapsible stock. Also, if it was as an AR style he could have had a few parts off the receiver.
99% sure the school didn't have metal detectors. Most in the area don't (too expensive to cover multiple points of entry or would create bottlenecks if forcing a couple of thousand students through one entry.
Witnesses said he took his backpack when he left the classroom; speculation is it was in the backpack, he took it to the restroom and got it out/assembled it and then came back.
