That poor child. Pitt Bulls have ZERO place in a civilized society. Anyone who argues otherwise needs to look at pictures of the poor children they’ve maimed and killed. There’s no excuse and no place for those killers.

Bless this precious child in her physical and mental/emotional recovery. Thanks for posting this. I made a donation and she is on my prayer list.

It’s very sad. Also infuriating. When a little girl can’t walk around her own neighborhood without risking an attack by a vicious and worthless animal at the hands of an irresponsible, trashy owner, something needs to be done.

After all of that diatribe you end with this? You’re part of the problem IMO.

frick pit bulls and frick their stupid arse owners for propagating the breed

I don't think you even understand the problem. I've raised dogs almost 50 years. The dog was abused, left w/o water/food for days. My buddy owned the property with the deadbeat tenant. I rescued the dog, brought him here... .. I have other friends who've retired and moved out of the city... two are currently interested in the pup and coming to see her. Both have plenty of acreage.

No innocent dog deserves to suffer. I put down my own animals. Three weeks ago my 15 year old Border Collie, already struggling with arthritis and cataracts, suffered a stroke, now mostly paralyzed, could not walk and was helpless.. I'm not going to turn my back on a dog that's been loyal a decade and a half, pay some vet $350 to do my dirty work. Have you ever watched a dog "put to sleep"?? Well, they don't always "go to sleep" right away and ain't pretty when they don't.

I took the afternoon to spend with him.. .. he loved the dog brush.. .. I brushed him about 20 mins or so, I hand fed him some sliced turkey (his big treat) which he could only eat for a bit, looked him straight in the eye, said my goodbyes, then put a .22 long rifle in his ear. If any titty soy babies are outraged, it's by far the most humane to pit down a suffering animal. When they get to that stage in nature, they are usually maimed and slowly killed by scavengers.

This pitbull was suffering in a kennel full of her own waste and starving. I've said many times here the breed needs to be phased out but there are more humane ways to do this. This girl will live out her life in the country, far away from neighbors. While I don't think all pits should be put down now, they are what they are and can't help it... ..I think it's time for a sanction on further breeding. Hard statistics are there that leave little doubt about the propensity for killing.. the numbers exceed all other breeds combined for humans killed.

False, there are other breeds that won't delatch as well. No need to lie to prove a point.

WTF are you even talking about?? I didn't say a thing about a "delatch", why they do what they do, nor is there a lie about anything. I simply referred to stats concerning the ratio of human deaths, said other breeds will warn with nips and bites but statistics show pits are the only dog having a documented history with consistency of not stopping until the death of it's victim. Labrador retrievers attack people more than any dog but no other breed has this specific peculiarity. The total number of humans killed by pitbulls is greater than the total all breeds combined. No breed is even close.

And I don't think a pit bull is one specific breed... but several in a category... ..which makes the task of removing them a little more difficult

That is because they were breed to bring down bulls and bears. They latch on and bring down the animal. It's not because they are meanies.

I am sure that little girl and her family would be comforted to know that. Why don't you give them a call and educate them.

even though the pit bull breed accounts for only about 5% of all dogs, they account for nearly 70% of all human deaths caused by dogs.

sounds like another problem we have in this country.

I've always wondered something about pitbulls. If they can't get top your face of neck and aren't able to get yours hands, can they be stomped to death. Like maybe crushing their necks or ribcages?
Real pit bulls are pretty much impervious to anything a human could do to them before they locked their soul crushing jaws on some part of your body and shake till your skin/bones falls off. My ex BIL fought them back in the day in the panhandle area and they will literally fight till death. A well trained one's neck is like a tree trunk.

You could abuse a Shih Tzu all day every day for years and it would maybe bite your finger one time like you accidentally stapled yourself.

Yeah people abuse and don't take care of dogs.

So we should probably get rid of dogs that will destroy lives or kill you if people abuse them.

certainly take that shite to court though. Especially if they were out, not on a leash, etc

Probably won’t be anything to collect from a pit bull owner.

I dont remember ever hearing about "pit bulls" growing up. Some had bull dogs but they wer'nt these huge things you see now. For the most part. I think the trend started with the rappers walking these things down red carpet events on big chains and another less desirable crowd began to emulate them. Then the breeders got in it and here we are. I dont think it's a good idea to ever have a set of 80+ pounds of fangs and claws around other people unless your ready to accept the liability. Too many stories of someones "baby" who never hurt anyone suddenly mauling or killing someone.

The stories always start the same way. From mothers of criminals to POS pit bull owners. Neither one wanting to accept responsibility for the behavior of an animal in their care.
