I think there's a lot of truth to that. The guy was destroyed by the press and even the President. I don't think most people would walk away from that with their sanity intact. I don't really blame him for having a death wish.

It's pretty widely known that most black people believed that Oj did murdered Kidman and Goldman.
What black people were "celebrating" was a black man beating 2 capital murder charges against a white man and his treasured possession, a white (pretty) womAn.
On the surface, it still seems wholly and rather fricked up to back someone like that (as blacks felt about others backing Zimmerman), but again, you can't exclude blacks history from their line of thinking in that case. Even if you're incident, if you're a black man and you're accused of a crime against a white person, history and stats heavily suggest that you will do the time for the crime. That situation in reverse suggests another story.
For example, in Louisiana, a white man has never been put to death for murdering a black man. That's an amazing stat, considering that states history. Blacks, on the other hand, Are disproportionally given the death penalty (when you control for the #crimes and other variables that dummies who laud as "well they do all the crime") .
They jumped behind OJ because the justice system , at that time and before them, was always (and stil is) more punitive on black people. There's no coincidence for why they always ask for diversity (more brown and blacks) on a jury, because sadly, that feel that that might given them more a fighting chance.

Proud of being an idiot and killing an idiot? If I were him I would just go away. I would not be ashamed as I (if all true) was in a fight for my life and won. But I also would not be proud of killing some dumb kid who needed to be arrested, not shot.
We have a LOT of military folks and law enforcement on this site. Stats have to suggest that some have taken lives. A real man I feel would be neither proud nor ashamed of killing someone. Even totally justified like combat or a cop in a gunfight. It has to frick those people up to a degree to kill another human. Any military guys or LEO care to chime in on this?
Not expecting a guy to pull a scab and relive some nightmare. Just weigh in in general.

Dude might be one of the worst people in the world, but even you say you can see how people thought it was self defense. So how can you turn around in the same freaking sentence and say he was a murderer. He was cleared as they said it was self defense.
OJ was cleared as well, but that was just idiotic. Zimmerman had an entire country against him and they still couldn't find enough evidence to find him guilty.
