Just from touring. I saw him at Smoothie King and it was his second to last show. He was very clear that he was going to continue to make music and would still play concerts, but he was retiring from doing long tours.
He's fricking unreal in concert. The man knows how to entertain. I hate country, but sure as frick dropped tree-fiddy to see him on that last tour.

How they had this event on Memorial Day weekend for all those years in Tiger Stadium is beyond me. Must have been oppressively hot.

Once had tickets and a backstage pass to a GS show. I got the tickets from a friend whose husband (at the time) was a running buddy of Strait.
Put the tickets and pass in my desk. Never use them.
Three months after the show, secretary is looking for something in my center desk drawer and sees the tickets and pass.

This was some time ago and I didn't realize (didn't pay any attention to C and W at the time) how popular Strait was. I did mean to offer the tickets up, just forgot about them.

He didn't play that when he played in NOLA a few years back.
Honestly that ended up being a pretty boring concert... I wouldn't pay to see George again. I left pretty disappointed, especially considering the price.
I saw Stapleton at Champions Square in NOLA last year sometime, and saw him in BR last week... he puts on an amazing show. He's phenomenal live.

I do like some older country music, but the stuff that has come out over the past 15-20 years is absolute garbage with the exception of a few and far between songs and artists.
I feel the same way about most new genres of music and associated artists. It's most likely me just getting old. Get off my lawn with your shite country music and rap.
