for gen z sure. But there are plenty of cars from the 90s and 2000s with "soul" that millennials with money will buy up.

This isn’t happening in my area. I teach Driver’s Ed. and in a school of 1100, just about every 15 year old has/is taking my class. That’s roughly 275-300 kids. I think this is regional. Southern kids want to drive, and southern boys know exactly why they “need” to drive.

Yep. My nephew is 17 and does not even have a permit.

My nephew is 17, has been driving for a year, has his own truck and a girlfriend (something else that seems to be on the decline. I read another statistic that said less than half of high schoolers had ever been on a date.)

Makes sense. I don't know if that trend has really changed.

If you say most parents won't let their kids date until 16, and about half the kids are 16 and younger. Offset the rest with older kids who have no game and younger kids who have been allowed to go on a date.

Once every baw has a sexbot, society will be comprised of only yoga studios and Starbucks with butchier women. No reason for a baw to leave the house.

Younger people love the gig economy like Uber and AirBnb but they vote for socialists. It makes no sense. That's capitalism in its purest form.

I can't imagine there will be much of a market for classic cars in 15-20 years.

Not my kids.

Son is all over the place in his ride and his younger sister is counting the minutes until he gets his replacement for graduation so she can inherit his.

There is a growing number of kids who are or becoming of driving age who are choosing not to learn how to drive for several reasons.
A book about the I Generation brings it up a bit.

Like I posted, I rather enjoy that the kids are disrupting the industry in some small way.

Mine either. We let both of mine drive to school (same car by-the-by, 2005 Camry) the summer before their senior year. In 2013, older son had to drive younger son to school with him.

Each year we upgraded and passed a car down. Younger son wanted his own car and his G/F who is sort of on her own, will get passed the Camry. Younger son just bought a used car of his own, a VERY nice used car, at almost retail. He will make his own payments and in a year get to renegotiate his terms.

Neither of my kids had ANY disinclination about driving, and they are both very conscious about car culture, history, classics, and what-have-you.

I don’t know what generation my 9y/o son is, but he’s into cars so much, he can’t wait till drive. I’m really dreading it...

Now, his twin sister is so clumsy, I don’t want her driving...

Yea kids these days just want to sit at home and play video games, unlike me and my friends whose idea of fun was popping lorcets and chugging whiskey while driving around with naked chicks shooting deer at night and peppering the “black clubs” at 1 am with paintball guns
