Coward.

He purposely feigned insanity and lied to his superiors so as to be relieved of duty.

When home, he was so ashamed of his actions he contemplated suicide but did not have the fortitude to take his own life for his dishonor.

His return to war and the atrocities he committed were nothing more than misguided attempts to restore his name and standing.

In the end, he would have been best served by launching a lead ball into his brain at a few hundred fps.

You can say this all you want but we both know that DC and a significant majority of the public would never tolerate a modern day William Sherman.

The public lost their minds over prisoners of war in Abu Ghraib being tortured and we had pentagon officials resigning in protest over Trump restoring a Navy SEAL's trident after he got rough with captured ISIS/AL Queda militants and won a court martial over it.

Hell, we even argue and dispute whether or not the atomic bombings of Japan was warranted and public opinion has become more divided on that over the years.

That sherman quote sounds cool and tough but that's not reality now as matters of war go in modern times.

That's from 2014.

He tweeted a lot more about Obama's handling of the Ferguson riots.

That was one city rioting.

Trump let DC burn for several days before finally making a speech and calling in the national guard that only did the bare minimum to contain the riots.

The chairman and the SecDef were embarrassed to be seen with President Trump at the photo OP showing strength and even apologized about it and that embarrassed their commander in chief.

We even have guardsmen and police all over the country kneeling, singing and dancing with the protesters.

And you think we could tolerate a modern day William Sherman?

He is a hero. He put a historic beatdown on an awful group of people who wanted to tear our great country apart

And would you tolerate a modern day American general doing the same thing today that Sherman did against the Indians and the south?

The pillaging, raping of women, burning down, looting, and torturing of children that Sherman condoned his troops doing?

Lost Cause myth.

Except for the burning.

And he only did that to Atlanta. Savannah didn't burn. The reason why was the same reason the French surrendered Paris: they didn't want to lose the city to a Lost Cause.

The Confederates did more of this than the Union.

Especially once Grant took over.

Tell that to the indians he butchered.

I keep asking the people that approve of the war crimes that Sherman called tactics if they would tolerate that from a modern day general and they dodge the question and double down on statements of Sherman is a hero and then run away. Every damn time.

Cowards absolutely refuse to put their money where their mouth is.

Yeah.

But all the others on the march were strategic military and logistical targets.

"Civilian" targets were those that gave aid to the enemy.

It wasnt a "Rape and pillage" campaign that Shelby Foote's retarded arse made it out to be.
