Toyota has let the Tundra wither on the vine. It is an old outdated product that sells in much lower numbers than Ford, GM, and FCA.
They’re actually doing really well with the Tundra. They sell every last one they make, and they don’t sit around on the lots very long. They don’t do the huge discounts, because they don’t have to. Toyota brand loyalty is huge.

Love our Hyundai Equus
Nice cars.
It’s one of the sedans that Hyundai is canceling/merging with a new model.

Ford and Fiat made dreadfully bad sedans, so it was good for them to exit. I'm not sure GM is much better, but it's probably a good strategy to get the farm only on SUV's and trucks.

That’s because they don’t make very many.

They run their San Antonio truck plant at full capacity and sell them all, quickly. It’s a profit play, not a volume one.

This.
Some people the frame recall fiasco wiped out their R&D budget for the model.

What happened to Ford of Europe?
They let it wither into a pale shadow of what it had been. They’re pretty much nonexistent there now. Again, their stock is trading for only $9.97 a share. Ford’s in way, way worse shape than the trucknuts F250 crowd realizes.

At least you're finally getting some self awareness.

Not sure why people think having a glut of inventory of every sales lot 5 miles apart is a good thing. Toyota makes a certain number of vehicles, and sells them all for top dollar.

People here would never believe it because their trucks sell so well in this country,
That's interesting because GM's trucks outsell Ford's trucks..

I only say people are wrong when they're wrong. Nice to see I'm in your head though.

They'll be thankful they're making sedans when the economy slows down.
The traditional 3-box sedan is probably on the way out. Mercedes and BMW might try to fight for the space at the high end. I think even Toyota/Lexus, which still makes a ton of sedans are moving to shed some models or at least replace them with 4-door coupes and move towards more crossovers.
It is striking that Honda is perceived as more of a truck/crossover company now than ever before.
The market has spoken.

Yep. Even Rolls Royce has an SUV.
The Cayenne is Porsche’s most profitable model.
Etc.
And I’m not sure why people think sedans will come back when certain crossovers are available for similar prices and achieve similar fuel economy.

Is this surprising given that it started life as a rebranded and spiced up VW? They also start at a much lower price point than the 911 and are much more practical. Who could imagine that cheap and practical is a big seller?

I don't think that's the point. The point is - a marque like Porsche (of course, part of the larger Volkswagen AG) just doesn't have the reputation of cheap and practical.
Most of the luxury marques have even reached down with things like the Lexus IS, the BMW 1 series, Mercedes CLA, which I've always argued against - diluting a luxury brand is likely to trigger a death spiral. But it has worked out for most of them to this point. We're already seeing a huge surge in smaller crossovers, hatchbacks and 4-door coupes, mostly at the expense of sedans.
Sedans are seen as old-fashioned and less practical than the more "utility" oriented modern station wagons. Of course, one can't really sell station wagons, so they call them something else.
It is what it is.
