Forgive me sarcasm ended with the rad Gen X and their dark humor. As a millenial I have a very hard time decoding it without my smartphones help that I grew up with in 1993

78 so the last of the Gen X. There was a time when they called us Gen Y. Generations evolve and are defined retroactively and in the 90's there was talk of a generation born between 70-90 that would be called Gen Y. Obviously, that later went away and the line was drawn at 1980 and Gen X/Millennial survived but there is definitely something to the Xennial generation.

You didn’t hurt my feelings
You just have stupid opinions
And as a millennial I can respect that

Sorry dudes, meant 98! Gen X ended with those born in 1980.

It's all about learning how to identify your trauma and then pushing is waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down deep into your soul and never talking about it every again.

Just depends on how you were raised. I was born in 1993 and most of the kids I grew up with didn't just get on the Internet whenever they wanted, or have video games, and that type of thing, so we were probably more similar to kids in the 80's than kids in the 2000's.
My dad was kind of old school though, as were many of the parents of my cohorts, I didn't get a smart phone until I was 18 (2011).

To some people, facts matter. It's not call pedantic, it's called being accurate.
But then again, I was working on and with computers before you were born. So, I wouldn't EXPECT you to remember the finer details of a pre and post digital world. I guess it would seem pedantic to you. To those of us that lived it, not so much.
I get being disagreeable. I don't get being nasty about it.

You were one of a profoundly small minority that had “unlimited” internet access in the early 90s
No one cares that you were working on computers in the 70s
Joshjrn is correct in pointing out that you’re being pedantic

It was pretty obvious Josh was talking about the common household, so yes, you were being pendantic.

Pedantic describes someone excessively focused on minor details, rules, or formalities, often in an annoying or tiresome way, showing off knowledge without practical sense or consideration for the bigger picture.

Well this thread turned into a shitshow
I just posted an article I thought was interesting, I didn't realize we needed to go to war over it.

AF While it is, I also don't think it's inaccurate. "Home internet" started really becoming a thing in 1997. We hit the 50% saturation mark in... 2001. Home internet exploding combined with 9/11 is a 1-2 punch seismic shift that's kind of hard to ignore. A kid born in the early-ish to mid-90s didn't just have different cultural preferences than a kid born in the early-ish to mid-80s; they grew up in a completely different world.
Yeah I don’t disagree, just thought it was ironic that a group railing against being labeled as a millennial or whatever would be concerned about this.
There’s just overlap. Functionally my childhood,HS, even college wasn’t any different than someone born in 1976 save for maybe a slight better cable box/video game system.
