Wow. That's horrifying. We went in I guess 2011 and stayed in Wares Vallley. Rented a cabin from a mandeville couple.

Prayers for everyone and no loss of life, human or animal.

Wonder where all the people after any hurricane blaming residents for living in such a hurricane-prone area are for this unfortunate event.

Has there been a map issued of the areas that are on fire? I know that changes quickly but just trying to get my bearings straight on where the impacted areas actually are.

Any word on the Mt. LeConte Lodge and the subdivision around the lake off Flat Branch Rd?

Based on what I'm finding everything but the immediate downtown area is in danger at the moment.

Wow...

We were there last May.. Stayed in Dollywood cabins... can't believe that's happening now... Hopefully the rain did the trick...

Hillbilly Golf was destroyed. That place is not far from the strip and had been there for ever.

That guy is absolutely right. The emergency services and leadership in and around Gatlinburg completely failed those visitors and residents. The first fire near Chimney Tops was reported around noon yesterday. Everyone knew the weather and specifically wind was coming. They should have been moving people out then.

Confirmed from my brother fighting the fire #Gatlinburg strip and #aquarium are still there for now. Continues to rain @wvlt @WBIRWeather
