The SMRs should help with that timeline. Everyone is a bit terrified of them, which is understandable. However, nonetheless, they are the future.

Silly fool.
1. They will find a way to tax you soon since you are getting around that gas tax. Pay your fair share and all ya know.
2. Electricity bill will go up as the power plants are fueled by oil & gas.
3. EV’s are not currently sustainable for the long term. Battery tech has a long way to go.

we put our economy in a temporary coma for COVID and paid people to stay home. Your big win for the Biden administration is the decrease in unemployment?

Has ESG essentially ruined shale production? Would've thought that by now the valves would be wide open, but EIA shows we're at 86% of all time production:

This country should never pay anything over 2.50$ a gallon for gas.

You have got to be kidding me. This is your argument for Biden being a good president?

The unemployment numbers should be way better than they are considering the shutdowns that his team created.

Gah, y'all are so dense and brainwashed.

I've never seen American optimism lower. Wasn't alive in the 70s but it's hard seeing it being much worse

Were you alive in 2008 when gas prices were just as high if not higher and we had a major credit crisis and subsequent recession?

Wait. Doesn't Louisiana economy do well when oil prices are high which cause gas prices to go up? Help a brother out here. Learn me something.

I would normally agree with you but this is a direct result of his policies.

if presidents want to keep expanding the power of the centralized federal government and rule via executive fiat, as they increasingly do; I think they are fair game for immense criticism when the country is in dire straits.

This. But as far as gasoline, I know a big part of shutting down the pipelines and production is to increase cost. The libs want to try & justify the need for their electric car push. They still haven't explained what people are going to do when they have to replace those expensive battery packs and what is going to happen to the environment with all those old batteries!!

Takes like a decade or more to build a nuclear plant. Not a solution, and libs hate it.
There's some in South Carolina that was shuttered after they blew 9 billion during initial construction. One of these know it all should just buy it for the cheap and fire it up.

quote:

In a major blow to the future of nuclear power in the United States, two South Carolina utilities said on Monday that they would abandon two unfinished nuclear reactors in the state, putting an end to a project that was once expected to showcase advanced nuclear technology but has since been plagued by delays and cost overruns.

The two reactors, which have cost the utilities roughly $9 billion, remain less than 40 percent built. The cancellation means there are just two new nuclear units being built in the country — both in Georgia — while more than a dozen older nuclear plants are being retired in the face of low natural gas prices.
