Brilliant

I want all Americans to suffer to get America back on track. Sometimes pain is the only answer.

Despite the bitching, Obama presided over a very lucrative O&G time period.

Lucrative for those working in O&G or lucrative for the rest of us paying for gas at the pump?

Now predict the price of a barrel of oil to go along with gas at the pump.

Price of oil will certainly go up.....however, no permitting on federal property will be an issue......get ready for more shale/fracking on private land and lots a law suits.

It's no the end of the world...if they can drive the price per bbls up, then maybe the smaller companies will start drilling on the shelf again in state waters.

All these jugheads think we are combating climate change by cancelling the pipeline and drilling in the U.S. In reality it just kills American jobs and we get our oil from the Middle East anyway. Can't wait to see the media reporting on $4 a gallon gas and being dumbfounded as to why it's happening.

Like with most leftist policies, they aim to help but end up disproportionately hurting the poor.

Smh.

Its fracking on NEW Federal leases. It will have a non-material impact and is simply a bone to throw to the fanatic environmentalist.

Lol. Nothing jumpstarts shale fracking like $65 bbl WTI.

Except we aren't anywhere close to this, and likely won't be approaching that until next year. And a significant portion of shale activity was affected.

Sad part is that global consumption won't be affected at all by this, all it's doing is shift production to the Middle East and Russia.

Leftists aren't very smart, though.

Most of the NM companies at least have permitted out like 3-4 years. It’s still ridiculous and dumb though

It's going to still have an impact as inventory gets rolled through and these cos start approaching their cliffs. U.S. production will basically decline gradually over the next few years and get displaced by international supply. It's also going to close off access to credit/capital markets for those with exposure as their asset base gets structurally impaired.

They’re not contradictory. US politics hardly matter, but if they matter, it’s not typically in the way people would think. This isn’t difficult.

How long do federal leases last for? I honestly don't know. What about when the existing plays dry up?
