I got diesel for $2.59 last week. I realized it should have been $4.59 and even said so on the sign but the pump price was lower. I went in and told the owner and he acted like an a-hole about it and blew me off. Last time I try to be nice but it saved my like $50

You didn't fill the rest of your trucks up after?

So you’re supposed to make a profit when you buy gas or pay for a service? Good to Know.
Yeah, that's what makes an economy go. If you didn't get a return on buying gas (or anything else), why would you buy it? The value you get out of it might be it taking you somewhere for business or pleasure, or from selling it again for more than you paid.

and 27.4 cents of that went to the State of Tennessee

And 18.3 cents went to the federal government.

Meaning the 45 cents was just enough for the taxes for Uncle Sam and Cousin Tenn.

I mean, he still came out of pocket owing a half cent per gallon.

Depending on where you live you could be paying up to a $1 in taxes a gallon. With the gas tax, sales tax, underground storage tax, and any other fees tacked on by the state.

Like California has the low carbon fuel standard fee that adds another $0.22 per gallon.

If this were in LA, no way it would have lasted five hours. the below ground tanks would have been dry in an hour.

No. I'd rather he live in his own country and not turn this one into the same kind of third-world place he came from.

that’s fair. but there’s also a huge difference in immigration practices and from where immigrants come from compared to our past.

I'm pretty sure black folks in tobacco, sugar, and cotton fields created a lot wealth with their labor.

My guess is that given the publicity, Royal Dutch Shell will cut him some slack.

considering that Royal Dutch Shell doesn’t own the gas station and merely just sells the gasoline to the owner, i doubt it.

are we still under the impression here that major O&G players own gas stations? surely not.

Pumptex.org: only 0.4% of gas stations in America are owned by major O&G Companies
