Draft behind some rigs while driving on the interstate.

(please don't do this)(does it really work?)
Cars with real time MPG readouts will show you the difference.
Drive 70 in an open lane in a full size SUV: MPG will be anywhere from 18-21.
Drive 70 drafting close enough behind a rig to get the full effect: 26-30 MPG.

Gonna put 'em all together.
1. Proper tire pressure, check often.
2. No AC, or vent (ac).
3. DO NOT accelerate quickly.
4. Don't drive over 55.
5. Cruise control.
6. plan outings for efficieny.
3 is the hardest for people to do, but probably saves the most gas.
4 is something about how engines are designed and could be lower I don't remember
Thanks for the drafting info, Bluto!

I carry a 1” nylon tow line with me. Sometimes I tie off on one of those 18 wheelers and catch a free ride up,the interstate.

huff it.
Did that for a couple of years as a teenager....strongly do not recommend. Fun at first but the hallucinations became the very embodiment of the worst shite you could imagine.
Probably would have been a rocket surgeon if not for the brain cells sacrificed at the alter of the dragon.

I don't have to deal with you on the road and you save gas.
Everybody wins!

Add a quart or more of water to your tank every time you fill up.

BR Costco looked like the 1970s gas lines this afternoon. It was almost backed up onto Airline.
And many of these exact ones in line at Costco for gas will then drive straight to Starbucks for a $8 coffee drink. Makes no damn sense.

If you get close enough the difference is more drastic than that.

It is, but it’s nerve racking to follow that close behind one at 70+.

Get your vehicle to 100 and throw it in neutral.
