Since I read this book, I proceeded to father two boys.
Circled back and read it for a second time in February. And it 100% hit different now
Someone start a petition to make March 16 the Official Baw Fathers Day

Not sure if this ever came out. Also not sure if I ever mentioned it to you Jody, but I want to say Dad called them 3 times in total. I can remember Dad saying “I’ve known Gary all my life and he said he’s going to kill him, he’s going to kill him”. I was there for at least one additional call earlier but I think I remember Dad saying he had called 3 times prior to getting the call from the airport. Not sure why they just didn’t send a car down there to divert them from the regular exit.
My Dad fully expected your father to be killed going after Jeff. He didn’t want to see his friend get killed and tried to stop it.

My dad felt the same way...but it didn't matter.
Now it makes sense why he called police. He was trying to save Daddy NOT Jeff.

When I make up there to meet Saint Peter, first order of bidness once my passport is stamped is to find Gary and tell him first round is on me.

Yep. He had just had another surgery on his leg and was having trouble getting around. I think that's why he didn't go to the airport himself to try and stop it.
That's just a guess though and I never thought to ask him. Pretty dumb to never think to ask that.

Man, your father isn't just a hero, he is a legend! He will forever be remembered for what he did.
And kudos to you for being able to talk about everything the way that you do.
You have my respect, whatever that's worth.

Holy shite man. You're like the ever present being of tOT, but in real life.
Aren't you the guy that found another posters stolen motorcycle and went through a long legal process to uncover a chop shop or something like that?

Glad someone bumped this. I like to remind Jody every now and then that he can suck ma balls for not mentioning me in his book.

Yep. Bubba(that's Jody's older brother for the OTers) and Gary had been going to the Box long before we got tix after 1993 season. My dad went with them a few times

I don’t really know Jody, but Bubba’s a longtime friend.

That's right. I think you know me and my brothers. I'm Mikey's age. Our families were among the first to move in to Village St George circa 1970.
csb I spell my name slightly different b/c Mikey and I were in Kindgergarten together at Mayfair. And I didn't want to have the same name.
