re: Garrett Ward gets sentenced tomorrow. Has anybody been following this?

I haven't really followed. Where will he serve that? 30 years at OPP, I would be looking for a bus to jump in front of.

How does that work? If he's sentenced to hard labor, what determines the facility where his sentence will be carried out? I thought that "hard labor" meant Angola.

I think it's a false equivalency to call beating a man to death with your fists in public a "stupid drunken mistake."

He didnt beat him to death right then and there. He beat the shite out of him and the guy died in the hospital weeks later because of the beating (and the fact that his unhealthy body couldnt recover from it).
