My house came with the wire shelves and the Rubbermaid track storage system. I've found the track system isn't ideal if you have 4 shovels, 3 rakes, etc. it's better to have a couple of long brackets to stack rakes, shovels, etc.
I still use the hell out of the track system, but I don't think I would pay for the convenience out of pocket

This metal shelving unit was in the laundry room until we remodeled. It is now in the garage, awaiting new organizational usage. (Pic taken back when the unit was new. We filled it up much more than that.)

i'm actually in the midst of similar project. my wife and i shopped around, picked out shelving that we liked then ordered the same stuff on Amazon for cheap.

I bought a US made, all metal pegboard system called Wall Control and loved it. The quality is superb.
The hooks are gasketed so they don't pop off like cheaper pegboards.

Cabinets are the shite, look out on craigslist they go fast if priced right. Everything in my garage so dusty because I live on a gravel road. Can't wait to get everything off the floor so I can just hose it down.

This makes me ink about how much crap people actually have. Not that it's all crap; but it all takes up space. I hate moving just my simple 1br apartment much less a house and garage

Rubbermaid fastrack storage here. Love it. Amazon has some better prices than the box stores. I also have a gladiator 48" wide cabinet. Flimsy in my opinion.

I can see the need to lock things up onsite for a someone who uses tools professionally. But if you're a guy doing work in your garage with your son watching then you need a pegboard just like God intended. I'm sure it's in the Bible somewhere.

I've got old cabs, plywood with wood angle supports and wall shelving with some bicycles hanging from the ceiling. Use whatever is to be had and cheap or free. I don't buy into the whole gotta look good thing, of course my shop isn't part of my house/garage.

Well I have peg boards and toolboxes as well as cabinets and work benches with storage but my garage is 36' x 40'
