especially for the full blown alcoholic. They mostly keep it to themselves.

Yes, and a lot of drinking does. Less people going out and socially drinking would cause the drinking rate to shrink.

Unless they're drinking at home instead.

Mrs. Cotten and I are early 30s. We haven't drank alc in over a year. We will drink a THC seltzer if we want anything. Those don't make me feel like total shite. Plus, the alcohol lobby is completely evil but that's a different topic.

Family member works for Republic, have a close buddy with Southern Glazers, they both have stated the THC seltzer market is fricking WRECKING their sales with the younger generation.

I used to have a great time drinking with a buddy of mine and he and his new wife quit drinking due to the negative health aspects. I didn't realize until later that he's taking hits off some weed pen thing all day everyday and takes mushroom capsules to focus

I have buddies doing this too and I agree.

The more states that legalize weed the more the drinking will drop.

And more and more studies linking alcohol to various cancers.

Are you referencing the bill that Abbott shot down.

He vetoed it because it eliminated all hemp products. A new bill is being introduced only banning the drinks and shite that actually make you feel high, but creams and other “pain reliefs” will still be available, and that bill will almost certainly pass

This is why the alcohol lobby has been throwing money at our politicians for decades.

Millennials are starting to ween off the booze due to age and health (and alternatives in some cases), plus the younger folks never really picked it up the same way older gens did.

Gen X is probably still kicking them back, as well as the boomers who are still alive.

Alcohol has historically had a very social aspect to it. Many people are casual drinkers that will drink in social settings. With the modern internet, people have replaced socializing in person at bars and similar establishments where alcohol is typically present with just staying home and gaming or posting on the internet as a form of socialization. I don’t understand why you can’t grasp this simple concept.

Good. Alcohol is trashy and causes cancer.

Apparently Gen Z doesn’t like to drink. But they love to vape.

Correct. That's the only reason drinking numbers are down. They moved onto something else.
