Are you 7?!?!
Guess this may be a step above being a gamer though.

Mannnn bringing back old memories. Pops and I used to fly RC planes out at the field in Madisonville (maybe?).
We had these little Kombat 40 planes that were made with reinforced aluminum square tube frames and corrugated plastic wings and control surfaces. Cheap little things (relatively speaking) that could take the beating my 12 year old self would put them through. But boy was it fun to fly a few loops then land it like a pro!
Some dudes out there had full on turbine jet models. Those were wild and way too expensive for us poors.

I once bought a girl a vibrator with a remote control. Very fun to turn it on during a party or dinner

I have a Traxxas Rustler 4x4. Currently down waiting for a new rear diff.

This is the RC content that I came to see, lol!

A 1/16th traxxas something or other, got it to try and get my son into it. I failed, but I still keep it running.
And this:
Beast. Lost all of my running gear in Katrina, but one day I’ll get running again. 4 stroke airplane engine in it.

Same. I’d guess I have had it for over 40 years.

Traxxas nitro rustler and tamaya electric stadium truck checking in.
The cheapest part were the purchases. The mods are on a whole different level though.

I had a nitro rustler, something was always broken on it.
Now that electric has caught up to gas motors there really isn't any point in getting nitro. My kids have a couple cheaper 4wd trophy trucks that are fun to drive around our property.
They have a grave digger on tracks that floats. So they can drive it around and into the pond.

I had both of these as a kid. They were fun.

Having things that break or wear out is all part of it and i do enjoy repairing.
The best part of that is you get to upgrade.
The only original parts on the nitro is motor (for the most part) and the servos.
The electric has a motor upgrade and is pretty much, too fast.
It has a mind of its own and can take off wide open (brushes or low remote batteries) at a seconds notice.

I have both a Traxxas S-Maxx and a T-Maxx. I haven’t used them in years, though, unfortunately. I would love to get them running again but I’m not sure that it would be possible.
Currently have a DJI Mini 2 drone. Love playing with it. Used it to take some good pictures of the snow we had up here a couple of weeks ago

There aren’t many 7 year olds playing with the kind of RC trucks the OP is talking about. Y’all can crap on playing with RC trucks, but the real deal nitro ones are incredibly fun.

Never ever been into rc cars, but damn this drone warfare shite has changed my thought process. Totally would invest in like 5-10 tiny drones, and two larger drones with amazing magnifying long range optics and a thermals settings
Feel like those could be the difference between life and death if things get bad just to lock down a street or part of a river or cabin until things get back to normal

They'll run!
Pull plug add a few drops of nitro fuel (has oil in it). Leave plug out and try turn over with spur or main gear by hand back and forth until free.
Do the same for carb by pulling air filter, few drops in throat of carb.
Remove servo linkage and push/pull slide until loose and smooth.
Put il all back together, leave plug wire off and turn motor over until smooth.
using remote, throttle carb back and forth until it is functioning like it should (springs beck when released.

3 LiPo RC boats about 15 years ago, 7 mins of speed. Accidentally left them on charger doing yard work and they caught fire.
Kinda glad my son isn't really into RC. Grandparents got him a drone, excitement lasted all of 1day after it dropped in the pond.
