Somewhat ironically, the minivan replaced the stigmatic station wagon for similarly nonsensical "image" reasons. The minivan was replaced, largely, by modular, car-based "SUV" vehicles which are nothing but sporty station wagons.
SUVs have changed from the old, rough around the edges Bronco and 4Runner to jacked up station wagons. It's hard to find a true wagon these days, but they are practical and efficient. We had a 99 V70 and it was a great car, especially for road trips.
But to the OP's question, I'd look into the Sequoia too, especially a used, V8 model. The V8 Sequoias and Tundras are very reliable and last a long time. They might not have all the cute features of the big American SUVs, but they are very dependable.

If they've outgrown a Pilot, a Sequoia, Telluride/Palisade, regular Tahoe/Yukon, etc ain't getting it done for them.

Yukon XL 4wd
Has been great with one exception: tranny blew out at 125k miles.
We’re at 150k now and she’s going strong (albeit with newish trans).
Tows boat, tackles snow in CO, hauls family of 5 plus 2 dogs. Beach runs forever. Super comfy ride.
Btw, I trust the crash safety of our 3rd row way more than 3rd row minivan.
We will likely opt for a 2025 of the exact same truck.

Sequoia 3rd row is trash.
We looked hard at them and came back to Yukon XL

How are you getting upper 20's mpg on a Yukon XL Denali?

We have a 2019 Tahoe for our 3. Has been great except the touchscreen is giving us major problems. Works most of the time, but when it starts acting up the screen acts as if someone is constantly pressing the bottom section of the screen. If on maps, the maps will start drifting to the left
This appears to be an expected problem with Chevy vehicles, and our quotes to fix have ranged from $400 to "probably looking at a little over $1k).
Whatever you get make sure you can do a roof mounted cargo box and hitch mounted cargo carrier. You'll be thankful to have them on road trips.

No towing needs, just a good family toting vehicle.

I have had a grand wagoner for over three years and 75k miles and have had zero issues.

old-school Ford Econoline or GM equivalent.
Some families I knew back in the 70s and 80s used these for their 3+ kids.
Plenty of seats and cargo room.
Drove like a truck though lol

Is it the 2023 model or did you mean the GX550?
I ask because we are looking at the new 2024 model.

Force her to take the minivan.

Wife (no pics) is adamantly against mini van despite my insistence.
Well we just got rid of a highlander that replaced our sienna of 12 years. Wife wanted to try something else. Found out real quick everyone missed the minivan (like I said they would)
Just picked up a 2022 Odyssey. Rides awesome. Tons of room. Plenty of storage.
Minivans rock. Kids love em. Makes traveling a breeze.
Way cheaper than these SUVs. You could put her in a loaded out odessey for cheaper than a base model large suv.
Get the ceramic tint. Absolutely worth it.

Either the GMC Yukon XL/Suburban (Escalade ESV) or Expedition Max (Navigato L).
The rest wont have enough cargo space when the 3rd row is up. Well, the Jeep will but its a POS.
