Fugitive Virginia football coach still missing after 6 months

This guy was last seen heading into the woods behind his house with a rifle. Most speculated at the time he killed himself. But he’d have been found by now if that’s what he did. Where could he be? And how did he escape? I’m thinking his wife had to have lied about the original story of going into the woods.

It does seem reasonable that if he had killed himself in the woods behind his house, a massive search would have found his body by now.
Sure, it is possible they wouldn’t have but that seems less likely.

What if someone reverse The Lovely Bones'd him? They lured him into the woods into a secret subterranean lair then killed him? That would seem appropriate for a pederast.
