re: Fuel Is Just Fuel; It's All About The Engine. (100% Legit) (Diet) (Nutrition)

when in reality it's ALL (99.9%) genetics.
one can eat whatever the frick he wants - the quality of your skin, your looks and your youthfulness are decided by GENETICS.
So I guess every elite bodybuilder has shite genetics?
Your post is only partially true.
Certain individuals exhibit genetic predispositions for muscle growth, fat storage, or neither. In theory, if you exert enough energy then you can consume any source of calories to aid in recovery and growth.
However, vitamin and mineral deficiencies are usually a direct reflection of your diet. Empty calorie sources do not provide the body with necessary nutrients needed for proper bodily functions.
Calories are not simply energy when you evaluate physiological responses such as hormone secretion or inhibition.

I also eat whatever, gave up on protein shakes after a personal 6 month experiment where it made near zero difference in my body composition how much protein I consumed.
Protein is probably the biggest fraud the supplement industry has pulled over the public.
The quantity of protein consumed does make a difference. However, the amount required is often overprescribed. Depending on activity levels, recommended protein intake can vary from 1 gram/kg of body mass to 1 gram/lb of lean body mass.
The problem is that most non-athletes are under the impression that they need to consume such copious amounts of protein to optimize tissue growth and recovery. Regardless of how hard you train, chances are that 99% of the population will never require 1.25 grams of protein for each lb of body weight.
However, much like creatine, the exact amount required to maintain an anabolic state is merely approximated. It is hardly an exact science. Yes, 100 grams of daily protein might be enough for you to recover after training, but perhaps it only allows for metabolic maintenance and does not facilitate growth.

Okay man, I do not disagree with you
But for 99.9% of the population it is not going to matter whether they eat protein shakes or cheeseburgers - they will end up looking the same (total calories being equal).
We can circkejerk back and forth about small differences in body composition from a "healthy" diet but it's mostly just BS.

Have you ever thought about:
Mesomorph--can eat crap and look good.
Endomorph--can eat healthy and look like a mesomorph?
Not sure why you are arguing about it here. Is PUAhate closed for Christmas?

i'm 38 and have probably the worst dietary habits possible.
i routinely throw down a whole Hot n Ready from lil caesars for lunch and chase it with a 42oz fountain coke.
eat a whopper or two a couple times a week.
big mac large fries and a large chocolate shake are also staples of my diet.
haven't been inside a gym since the mid 90s.
i'm 5'8" and just under 160.
definitely not ripped, but decent definition.

hardly
work in = work out. Simple as that.
you cannot use more energy to repair tissue/replenish fat and glycogen stores than you have.
it is true that different metabolic processes and pathways have different efficiency in different people. And thus, calories used in the same task probably vary from person to person. also calories used from certain macro nutrients will differ.
but according to the laws of thermodynamics, it is impossible to create energy. If you create new mass from less energy than needed (a calorie is a measurement of energy) then you should donate your body to science when you die.
or the laws of thermodynamics are missing a piece of the puzzle which is possible.
this is why slayers can eat whatever (good engine) and hulkllogans can not (bad engine)
its very simple really

This thread is retarded
I used to be that person who could eat whatever I wanted and not gain an ounce, my coaches in college force fed me basically and finally I started to gain weight my junior year
I continued these eating habits well after college, and at some point I lost my "gift" of being able to eat whatever I wanted, and suddenly I was an out of shape skinny fat 205 pound slob at 6 feet tall around 25% body fat. Double chin and all.
9 agonizing months of cutting later I got back down to 155 pounds and 10% body fat. frick every day of those 9 months. To get lean like I did you have to work at it and stay disciplined. It's not "genetics". Any time I have a cheat meal I feel like shite the next couple of days and feel like I gained 10 pounds of pure fat.
