frick chiggers (red bugs)

Recently went fishing at a buddy’s house. Got bitten by a shite ton of mosquitos, came home and itched the frick out of them. The next day they got bigger, so I figured they were spider bites. The next day, the bites were swollen, and they itched like hell. Came to the realization that they were from chiggers. The bites are now like massive blisters, and these things itch.
Anyone else have any experience with these things? If so, any advice to stop this fricking itching?

Your only option is to amputate past the area before it spreads further

Calamine or toothpaste if you don’t have any.

My grandma used to put me in a bath with a little bleach in the water.

Go to redi-med. They'll give you some itch stuff and a shot

In my experience, there is no solution. You just have to ride it out for a couple of weeks. May be worse than poison ivy.

Toothpaste, it smothers them

My mom and sister got into them so bad around 78/79 that they almost had to be hospitalized. Picking blackberries.

Go to a chain drugstore like CVS and get a tube of "Afterbite".

Never had to deal with them myself because I used this:
Also helps get rid of the bites as well.

Diluted Clorox in a bathtub will help

I’ll never forgot when I had mine. They ended up anywhere that was tight or elastic (underwear etc.) So wear loose fitting clothes and get calamine lotion. Google some OTC ointments

See a doctor. There are meds that can help. Plus calamine, oatmeal, tooth paste, all that home remedy stuff. Burn the clothes you wore to fish in ... and maybe the shoes or boots.

All good suggestions. I’ve heard the nail polish thing is a myth but frick if it hasn’t worked for me before.
