Had a case of this as a kid. Too bad it eventually wore off.

Use Calagel.

It is meant for drying poison ivy, but works wonders for bug bites...especially chiggers.

It helps with the itching as well.

Don’t waste your time with nail polish...you are just painting the problem.

Lather up.

I got bit by a huge chigger late this afternoon, weird but it was squiggly and had a rattle. Arm’s as big as a watermelon right now but I just put some afterbite on it.

Apply ammonia with a cotton ball. Instantaneous, miraculous relieve of itching.

True. You are having an allergic reaction to the remnant feeding tube after the mite dropped off. Benadryl is your best bet. I have dealt with them far too many times to count.

One of the best things about living in the Pacific NW is that there are no chiggers (or poison ivy, or poisonous snakes, or ticks).

A southern secret:

Rub crisco shortening all over affected area. It will get rid of the swelling in about 30-40 minutes and the itching will stop within minutes.

You are welcome.

Yup, and went to jazz fest yesterday, lounging around watching baseball game today and probably won’t shower until tomorrow. Man I love weekends!!
