We used to go to Destin all the time. Then we went with BIL to Waterscape in FWB and went back several years in a row. Avoids the Destin traffic and had a nice layout with multiple pools, lazy river, bar at main pool and kid activities. We haven't been to the beach in a couple of years doing other trips, but it was nice enough.

Gilley’s in Pasadena. Tx would do that in the 70s and 80s unless you put your sun visors down.

Stayed there in the late 80s on a church youth trip. It was a dump back then.

We did not, in fact get our deposit back.

Management locked us out of the room and we had to beg and swear to behave better to get let back in.

I still laugh that the “C” was burnt out the whole time creating the aptly name “arousel” resort.

Green Frog is long gone.

Big Bertha's Bordello and Chili Parlor was torn down before Green Frog. The location is now a restaurant called "the Gulf".

The area around Hogs Breath would be called ShantyTown and included Thunderbird's nightclub and Tim'bers late night club. Used to bounce around there back in the day

More changes coming with the new Brooks Bridge being built.

They tore down the Waffle House to make way. Has seriously affected ability to check knuckles in the area.

I can confirm these are running as usual.

If you are feeling frisky head east a light and there’s a Stubble Inn with a couple more adult arcades that are loose in dress attire.

The Ramada with the grotto and the Sand Flea back in the day. Those weekends sealed the deal with several sorority girls. Remember I did learn not to take 2 sorority girls from same sorority down there, except for the ZBT s

FWB Spring Break in 87 and 89.

Cash's was lit. Hot Legs and Wet T-Shirt contests invariably became amateur stripper events.

FWB did it right, they tore down all those flea bag hotels and only allowed 6 story condos. It's great you're not hearing about it, keeps it quiet.

We always stay at Waterscape, It's where the Blue Ho was, across from Cash's....

We always stayed at the Edge Water for Spring break in the mid 80's, across from the beach on the bay side. We'd get a 3 bedroom suit. Woke up one morning and counted 26 people sleeping on the floor.

When I was playing with the Gutter Sharks, when we would play there, we'd stay at the Driftwood, down Santa Rosa Island, $35 a night. Met a girl from Tennessee, at Cash's, on her senior trip, hooked up with her for two nights. She wanted me to come see her at home, was all worked up to do so till I found out her dad was a state trooper.

Ft Walton has been slowly revamping itself. Waterscapes and Destin West are the best places to stay. More family oriented but slowly catering more to youngsters over time.

Went to FWB on a whim back in the 80's. Didn't have a room so when we got there the Blue Horizon didn't have anything until the next day. It was one of the bungalows, so we partied all night and passed out on the beach in front of the hotel. Woke up and could hear the noise of kids and such playing along the beach. I was laying on my side and when I got up, I was sun burned halfway across my body. Kinda like guy in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Good times. And Cash's was the tits, along with Hogsbreath and Nighttown or whatever it was called.

Man I'd love to go back and stay for a lil bit just to get a feel for my old home. A buddy and I stayed for a few weeks at a relative of his ' condo in Navarre ,then we got a condo next door to Cash's Ft WaltonBeach, right across from the Blue Whore. Worked at Victor Sherrod's, an awesome club, Nightgown, Destin, awesome club, were there for probably year and a half at least. Sooo many great memories there man. Sammy's on the island,Hogs breath saloon, many more great places. But the Blue Whore man... if you couldn't get laid at that place, there was no hope for you. The Breakers was next door to it and it was the same but better class of ladies most of the time.

I referenced Victor's earlier. The talent per square foot in a pre-aids disco world is hard to describe to the young guns.

Did Victor's end up being Nighttown?
