Maybe it's just this store, the site still works fine.

My grandmother's brother is/ was a Ham guy out of Springhill, LA. I'm 43 years old and can remember that weirdo talking to plugs in Kansas about tornadoes 35 years ago. I never wanted to go back to Springhill, LA after that episode.

What’s with the Pepsi?

Since its origin, it has always had a grocery section as odd as that might seem. But as long as I have ever been it one they only had snacks and soft drinks.

It used to be more like a huge Radio Shack (back when RS sold actual electronics parts) and was like a nerd wonderland. As the years went by it became more like a Circuit City or Best Buy and seemed to suffer the same fate as CC and likely BB soon.

Have you ever seen photos of Venezuelan groceries? They have literally nothing on the shelves except a frickload of Pepsi. No one wants that shite.

If you’ve never been inside one of their stores, you were dealt a short hand in life

It’s changed a lot since then. The test for FCC licensing these days almost requires a degree in electrical engineering, so the herd has been thinned dramatically. I spend most of my time on HF, talking to people all over the world. I’m also heavy into SOTA, which stands for Summits On The Air. Basically we hike up the highest mountains we can with our gear and attempt to make contact with people through RF.

Good riddance

Fry's is fricking garbage . I've tried to order from them multiple times and their website inventory was never accurate and could never get orders processed

Edit: never been to or seen one of their brick and mortar stores, but wasted way too much time trying to order from them online . Their customer service over the phone was equally as bad

I take it from this thread they don’t have Fry’s in New Orleans.

Imagine my surprise when yet another business is closing without the support of Louisiana.

Apparently you can’t sustain anything on your own.

I walked by the video card section of that Frys a few years back and there was a group of neckbeards standing there for a solid 5 minutes. I circled back through after they left. The odor that they left behind smelled like they hadn’t showered in a solid month. I’m a gamer and don’t judge but the “master race” dropped a tier that day for me.

I used to just go to Fry's for the sake of looking around. 15-20 years ago, it was an electronics paradise.

Loved getting up on Black Fridays at the crack of dawn, to go shop at the Spring,Tx location, made out like a bandit. But, otherwise never went there.

The shelves have been empty for the last 2-3 years after vendors started requiring them to pay upfront for their goods. I'm surprised they made it this long with little to no merchandise on the shelves.

We had one in the Atlanta area that closed down about a year ago. The service there had really gone downhill. I had stopped going there at least a year prior to that since Microcenter was right down the street.

Another sad reality of brick and mortar stores. Why have humans interact with other humans through the simple act of purchasing something when it can all be done with a couple of clicks?

Pretty soon all brick and mortar stores will be mini distribution centers and warehouses containing the shite you order online. At that point we may as well come full circle.
