I guess this hurts the University of Louisiana and Big 12 talk.

I used to post the load factors for LFT’s Frontier flights when published in the DOT T100 releases. They were pretty low, MCO was in the 60s, DEN in the mid to low 70s. For reference, mid 80s is typically the target unless the market yields really high fares. Frontier shoots for upper 80s.

LFT is going to rise and fall with O&G. The DEN route on United was supported by passengers going to the Canadian and North Dakota fields.

I flew to Denver multiple times while Frontier offered their service, all on United.

With United I have miles and lots of options on dates/times. I have a "free" checked bag, early boarding which guarantees a spot for my carry-on, and I choose my seat. I have missed a United flight (was drunk as frick) and they got me home on the next flight. Haven't really had much bad luck with them.

Also,
CO = outdoor gear = multiple bags = extra costs on Frontier

Then consider the difference in price and its worth a little extra to not fly Frontier. At least in my situation.

But who could have foreseen this, says no one ever.

Darn, I loved their flight to Denver and Orlando. Great to fly out of Lafayette. Easy and quick.

Passenger activity at Lafayette Regional Airport (LFT) last year set a new all-time record for the number of passengers, according to Lafayette Airport Commission Chairman Paul Segura. A total of 530,501 passengers flew into and out of the airport in 2019, topping the previous number of 501,101 set in 2014.

Maybe the problem is Frontier?

calling it an airport is an insult to airports.

I love flying out of Lafayette. You could probably show up 30 minutes before your flight and make your flight and make it without a worry. There's really nothing in there but there's really no need to have anything in there.

back in the day, the cafeteria at the LFT airport was a go to lunch place for some of the best soul food in town, thanks Aramark!

It was a dumb move to begin with. There is no way in hell Lafayette has the demand to support flights to Denver and Orlando. There is multiple daily flights to Houston, Dallas, and Atlanta. That's really all that is needed.

Lafayette needs to find an airline with a direct trip to Midland. That flight would be booked damn near every time.

Soon Frontier says to Lafayette:

“Lafayette, we are NOT here!”
