Front porch gas lantern question

I had my house pressure washed today and he put out one of my gas lanterns. I've been meaning to clean these out for a while. How do I relight it? Is it as simple as a lighter? As far as cleaning it, its cool to just open them up?

Evacuate the area, you’ve got a gas leak.

Simple as lighting farts.

yep, you can just open them up for cleaning...actually they need to be cool, so now is a good time, if they are already not lit.
I can't really see through the glass, but if those are the open-flame type, you can just light them with something like a barbecue grill lighter when done. If they are the kind that have the little cloth bag (mantle) that burns, then you will have to get more of those before lighting.

Use and air hose if you have one to clean out the trash in the line before lighting up.

Just turn the valve off to stop the gas.
Clean the unit....glass cleaner works fine.
Open valve and relight with lighter. Then adjust flame.

The type you posted doesn't appear to have a pilot; consequently, gas is escaping now if you haven't closed the valve.
If the valve is open close it, and then clean the opening. You might want to clean the glass panes too while it's off.
Open valve and relight.

Ask your husband when he gets home.

1) open door
2) shut off gas cock
3) let it air out/let gas escape
4) clean
5) Open gas cock about 1/2 way
6) light flame
7) open gas cock all the way
8) close door

Yes, as long as you aren't in Jefferson Parish. If so, you probably need a permit to relight it.
Mine get blown out constantly by the wind.
ETA: I never let them air out. Just open the door and light it

I turn mine off when I go on vacation.
Very easy to relight.

You burning tires in that bitch?

I closed the valves and left mine off.
A pair of lanterns burns like 20 bucks a month in gas.
Not worth it for me.

It amazes me everyday how some of you people get out of bed everyday and function on your own without asking the OT for advice.
